A Delayed Start

July 2, 2010

So, my long weekend got off to slow start. :-? I forgot about a few loose ends that I needed tie up before the end of the day, so I put my nose to the grindstone and busted it out!

While I worked, I watched these two clowns play in the kitchen. I’m pretty sure Murphy now knows the word for “cheese.”

A little while later, it was time to enjoy the weekend! :-D I broke into a bottle of Chardonnay from Westport Rivers, a local winery in southeastern Massachusetts. I have yet to visit, but it’s on my list! My blog buddy, Meghan, highly recommends it!

While sipping my glass of wine, I snacked on some Doctor Kracker Seeded Spelt crackers, which are certified USDA Organic! ;-)

Mal took the reigns on dinner tonight, but Murphy and I helped a little bit too.

For dinner, Mal made a wonderful recipe from Men’s HealthSeared Scallops with White Beans and Bacon.

I’m not going to lie, we were both pretty surprised how well this meal turned out. It was on par with a meal you’d get at a restaurant! So delish!

This recipe is definitely a keeper! :-D

Mal and I are hanging at home tonight. We have 2012 on DVD to watch. I LOVE John Cusack, so I’m looking forward to it.

Enjoy the start of your weekend!!!

Dinner looks amazing. I have been looking for a new recipe for scallops so I’ll have to give this one a try. Your pup is too cute. We had pugs growing up, before anyone had ever really heard of them.

What is going on with Men’s Health? It used to be a photo depiction of “a can of chili” + “a can opener” + “a bag of chips” + “preshredded cheese” = “NACHOS!” It was the Sandra Lee of men’s magazines. I read it for the articles. ;)

I love scallops and have made something similar in the past. I’m going to try this recipe cuz I forgot what a great combo it is. Chardonnay is the perfect pairing with scallops. great start to the weekend!

Hi! I made this recipe last night. I am not much of a cook, but figured it was an easy enough recipe to follow. Of course yours looked much better than mine (I should have torn apart the spinach and my beans got a little mushed). But it did taste pretty good! I might try to make it again, but with a few changes… I made it for my boyfriend and his brother and they both said it tasted good!
