Another Adventure

I’m packed up and ready to go on another adventure! 8-)

IMG_0005.JPG

I’m taking the Bolt Bus down to New York City for the day.

Quick side note: the Bolt Bus rules. I took it for the Citymeals-on-Wheels event last month and Mal and I took it in around Christmas to celebrate our engagement– both times were great. (Mal and I got engaged at a wine bar in NYC in December 2006.) The Bolt Bus is super cheap, clean, and the internet is usually pretty good. (It depends how many people access it at once.) And, if you create a Bolt Bus account online, you can get an “A” ticket, which let’s you on the bus first, so you get your choice of seats (i.e. not near that bathroom at the back of the bus). I got a sweet aisle seat at the front of the bus this morning! ;)

Ok, so I bet you’re wondering why I am going to New York City today. Well, I was invited to the media lunch for the “Kitchen of the Year” event, put on by House Beautiful. Sounds pretty cool, right? I didn’t have anything to do today, besides work on my book edits, so I figured why not do them on the bus ride down to the city? Hopefully, I can get a lot done!

Breakfast

I packed breakfast to take with me this morning: Oikos + Raisin Bran, a nectarine, and a strawberry cereal bar.

When I arrived at the bus station, I grabbed an iced coffee from Cosi.

We just left South Station. Time to get to work. See ya in NYC!

You go on so many adventures! I’ve never tried a bolt bus. Is it faster than taking the train?

    I love your bag!

I would love to have some great mass transit options. Where I live it’s the car or you don’t go. Would also love to be near two great cities like Boston and NYC.

Have a great trip! Ugh, I hate the seat next to the bathroom! It needs to be roped off as a crime scene during most trips. There should never be seats right next to it!

You have such a fun life! Can’t wait to hear all about your day. I hope Mal can handle Murphy babysitting duties. Sometimes 2 boys can get into trouble when the lady is away ;-)

I hate taking the bus. I always get motion sickness, it’s worth paying extra for the train.

I love taking the bust from Boston to NYC, it’s kind of a nice ride :-) I used to do it all the time when I lived on the North Shore, to see my brother who lives in Brooklyn.

I love Bolt Bus! I’ve taken it from DC to NYC a couple of times. I prefer the train if I had my pick of anyyything but you can’t beat the price of the bus, which is why I opt for that every time :) .

    Have fun today Tina!
