All About The B’s

July 3, 2010

This morning was all about the B’s! 8-)

Before my workout this morning, I snacked on a toasted piece of Fruit & Nut Manna Bread with Barney Butter.

Workout

At 7:30 this morning, Dave and Marie picked up Mal and me up for Body Pump at the gym. Our gym has holiday hours this weekend, so our class got off to a late start. (I think someone forgot to open the club this morning! )

Body Pump was pretty good. I’m still not a huge fan of 74, but it’s growing on me. For some reason, I’m able to lift more weight on these new tracks, which is usually not the case when I first start a new release. (A new release challenges your muscles in a different way, so, typically, I go down in weight and then work my way back up again.) Even still, I got a good workout and that’s all that matters, right? ;-)

Breakfast

After Body Pump, Mal and I headed home for breakfast. I whipped up an egg white omelette with spinach and Athenos Feta with Black Peppercorn.

Mmm… feta! :-D

On the side, I also had small piece of toast with Barney Butter and, as always, iced coffee with vanilla soy milk.

This afternoon, Mal, Murphy, and I are going to my sister’s house to hangout, barbeque, and play with Batman!

Enjoy your Saturday! 8-)

P.S. 2012 was so dumb! I didn’t even watch the whole thing. :-?

I think I saw a similar B post on Allie’s blog… Breakfast FTW! I’m sorry you didn’t like 2012 – I haven’t watched it but reviews haven’t exactly been good. :S

I knew it! 2012 was so ridiculous, right? I was sitting there rolling my eyes the entire time, “oh hear we go again- almost die… wait… they just barely get through… and repeat”

Feta in omelets are always tasty! They don’t give the stringy effect that I like my cheese to have but the flavor more than makes up for it :D

not sure how you prepare your omelets exactly, but looks good.

YUM, egg white omelets! Perfect after working out! Yeah, we did not even finish that movie. Too much cheesy stuff…ugh I hate wasting time on bad movies! Enjoy the rest of your Saturday Tina!

I am starting body pump today. First class for me. I just don’t know how heavy to go on the weights?

You can’t go wrong when your day is “brought to you by the letter B” (It’s my favorite letter–hence, B Foxy Fitness) :) That omelet looks damn good. It sounds like you have a great start to Saturday!

@Kellie: You will LOVE Body Pump! The first class might be a little weird, but definitely make sure you go back for a second or third class. The only reason I say this is because Mal was lukewarm about BP after his first class, but now he’s hooked!

To give you an idea, here’s what I do for weight: http://carrotsncake.com/2010/03/pumped.html Actually, I lift even more now, but I’m also a beast! :) My best advice is to not go too heavy to start. You’ll be lifting the weight for 5-6 minutes straight, so you want to make sure your muscles can endure the whole song. You can always add weight on your second class!

Good luck! ENJOY!

I loved that movie. :) You knew it wasn’t real but the special effects I thought were really good, and I like John Cusack, so maybe that helped. He was the hero! :)
Have a great week-end.

My gym has a holiday class schedule – I did a 90 minute “Tour de France” Spin class! I wish we had Body Pump, although I’m sure I can find a similar class – I definitely don’t strength train enough.

The omelet looks fabulous! I’ve been lazy with eggs lately. Usually I whip up two egg whites plain and eat some veggies on the side.

Have a great day!!

I like 74 a lot. The instructor kept going on and on about how hard it is, especially the squat track. I went down a bit on weight, and I was disappointed…I really didn’t find it that difficult.

your omelette looks so good. what’s the key to making an omelette? everytime I attempt to make one, it turns into an egg scramble instead.

Stacey @ Tipping the (Kitchen!) Scales July 3, 2010 at 5:07 pm

The omelet looks great. I have never thought to put Feta in an omelet and usually just add plain ‘ol cheddar. I should be more adventurous I think! Glad you enjoyed Body Pump.

I’m still not a huge fan of BodyPump #74 either – I’m trying really hard, but I just can’t get into it. Especially the chest and back tracks – they’re my least fave. However, my legs end up feeling like JELLO by the time the lunge track is finished! :)

Last night I watched The Departed and Charlie’s Angels – I think next time you should watch those instead of something like 2012 :P I still have one jar of Barney Butter in my cupboard that I’m yet to open… (I’m in Australia, where it doesn’t exist.) I’m scared of trying it and then being so sad that I can’t get more!
