A couple of months ago, Mal and I attended the Taste of the Nation in Boston. We had a wonderful time eating, drinking, and being merry. At the event, we both fell in love with the Sloppy Joes on Cheddar-Baked Bread from KO Prime. (Ok, so maybe we ate like 3 each, but they were that amazing.
)
Anyway, ever since the Taste of the Nation, Mal and I have been determined to enjoy these sandwiches once again, so tonight, we went to KO Prime for their “KO Prime Time” bar menu. (Hey, we’re all about saving money!)

Oh, I thought my outfit was fun/cute tonight, so I made sure to snap a pic before we left the house. (Yes, my hair is still sopping wet from the shower. I rarely blow dry it.)

At KO Prime, Mal and I started with a couple of cocktails. I ordered The Pear martini, which was Grey Goose la Poire Vodka & White Grape Juice.

The cocktail sure sounded (and looked) delicious, but it was much too sweet for my liking. It tasted like it was made with thick syrup instead of juice and vodka. I drank two sips and knew it wasn’t for me. I actually ended up sending it back, which the bartender was not too pleased about. (She actually wasn’t very nice at all. Boo!)

I ended up ordering the “Daily Selection of Wine,” which was a Chardonnay for just $5 a glass. I really liked it and end up ordering a second glass later in the evening.

As an appetizer, Mal and I shared some KO Chex Mix, which was regular ol’ Chex Mix with a chili spice rub. It was tasty, but nothing special. I kind of wish that I saved my $2.

For my entree, I ordered the KO Sloppy Joe, which was just as amazing as I remembered! It was an all-beef sloppy joe with pickle slices on a homemade cheddar bun. I savored each and every bite. It was easily the highlight of the night for me.

All and all, my experience at KO Prime was just so-so. I absolutely loved the Sloppy Joe, but I felt like everything on the “KO Prime Time” bar menu was totally overpriced. I guess I was expecting a deal by sitting at the bar, but Mal and I ended up spending quite a lot of money on dinner tonight. Even still, we enjoyed ourselves and had a wonderful date night!
We have The Time Traveler’s Wife on DVD to watch tonight. I’m dying to see it– I loved, loved, loved the book! It’s the only one that I’ve actually cried while reading. I’m off to change into my “movie suit,” eat ice cream, and relax with my hubby and pug.
Good night, folks!

Curious what you thought of the movie — the book (as usual
) was soo much better even though I love Rachel McAdams!
I love going out to dinner, but sometimes all I can think about is how I want to get home, get comfy, and eat dessert in front of the TV… glad to know I’m not alone in this!
Love Love Love you skirt… also that yellow house behind you is BEAUTIFUL! I guess I am not used to houses like that, living in California. How charming!
Also, The Time Travelers Wife was an amazing book.. havent seen the movie yet… I better netflix it!
Glad you enjoyed the Sloppy joe.
I don’t blow dry my hair either… it takes too long. Your hair looks nice sopping wet. Haha.
Your hair always looks so cute, I can’t believe you don’t have to blowdry it. Envy has overcome me!!!
It is wonderful seeing you have such a great time!
I loved Time Traveller’s Wife also – cried and cried! For a really affordable bar menu / swank experience you should come up North to Glory in Andover sometime, one of my favorite places. You don’t have to site at the bar (you sit in the excellent lounge) – and on weekends there is live music to boot.
Did you love it? I haven’t read the book but I loved the movie. Maybe I’ll pick up the book – I always like a good recommendation.
