Enjoying the Amenities

Thanks for everyones birthday wishes on my previous post!! I hope you enjoyed seeing photos of my past birthday cakes. It was fun compiling them all for the post!

Breakfast

So, I’ve been enjoying the hotel’s amenities on my birthday. I started my morning with breakfast in bed with my hubby. We liked ordering room service for his birthday so much, we decided to do it again for mine. Breakfast in bed definitely makes a birthday a little more special! ;-)

I had two eggs over easy with homefries and a blueberry muffin.

And, of course, coffee.

Workout

After breakfast, I got ready to exercise in the hotel gym. Unfortunately, I forgot my sneakers! 8-O Luckily, Mal brought his, so I borrowed them. I looked ridiculous with huge sneakers on my feet, but they actually worked pretty well. Once I started running, I didn’t even notice how big they were on my feet. I just tied them really tight!

At the gym, I ran almost 4 miles on the treadmill followed by 30 minutes on the elliptical. I alternated between 15 minutes on the treadmill and 15 minutes on the elliptical for a 60-minutes workout. I finished up with about 10 minutes of stretching and then hit the pool to work on my tan.

Lunch

For lunch, I enjoyed my pug cookie and an iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts. Obviously, this “meal” was not nutritious at all, but, hey, it’s my birthday. Cookies and coffee are totally acceptable! ;-)

The wedding is just an hour away, so I need to get ready! I’m so excited!!!

What a nice hotel! Can’t believe you ran in your husband’s sneakers. LOL I can’t even walk in my husband’s. I wear an 8.5 women’s and he wears a 14 men’s.

Nothing in the world says “happy birthday to me” like having a day when you eat to suit your fancy, and not necessarily your optimal diet. I often play the game “if life were consequence free, what would I eat until the cows came home?” and I like to spend my birthday putting the theory into practice just a bit… :) May you have a day of hedonism and a happy birthday, too!

That totally cracks me up that you wore Mal’s shoes! How much bigger are his feet than yours? There is no way I could do that with my husband. I wear a size 5 1/2 and my husband wears a size 12. No way…

My boyfriend wears a size 12 sneaker. If I tried to run in his shoes, I’d definitely fly out of them and land on my face. (I’m wear a size 8) haha. I love working out while I’m away from home! When we went to Boston last summer, we walked everywhere and climbed the Bunker Hill Monument. That was my workout for the trip.

And BTW, I think it’s awesome that you ate a cookie for lunch on your birthday. You deserve it!

Cookies and coffee are often my lunch – or breakfast – of choice. Sometimes you just need caffeine and sugar to balance all those veggies…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY again Tina! I love that cookie! I really love your outlook on eating too! So many people are caught up on trying to maintain the ‘healthy’ clean image, and don’t enjoy life whatsoever. Cookies are to be enjoyed- as are birthdays, life and every moment we chose to celebrate! I love that pool! Have a lovely day!
