Back to My Boys

June 15, 2010

Awww, I missed these guys! I was only away overnight, but seeing their smiling faces when I came home this afternoon made me so happy. :-D

I don’t know who was more excited to see me– my husband or my dog. Murphy almost wagged his tail right off his butt!

Breakfast

On my way to catch the BoltBus this morning, I made a couple of stops for breakfast: Fairway for fresh mixed berries and Starbucks for a turkey bacon egg sandwich on an English Muffin and an iced coffee with soymilk. This breakfast included so many of my favorite foods. It was a good way to start the day! :-D

Lunch

My lunch was sort of pathetic today. I didn’t plan well, so I just sort of winged it. I wasn’t super hungry when I got onto the bus, so I didn’t think about buying more food for the ride to Boston.

I didn’t have many options being stuck on a bus, so I ended up snacking on some Food Should Taste Good Multigrain chips from last night’s swagbag. I liked ‘em a lot.

When I arrived at my apartment nearly 5 hours later, I went right for the leftover cupcakes from my birthday party. I ended up choosing the Boston Cream flavor. Mmm! It wasn’t the healthiest option for lunch, but I was hungry!

A little while later, I snacked on a kiwi.

Dinner

For dinner, I kept things simple with a Barney Butter +  banana sandwich on whole wheat bread. (The Barney Butter was a special birthday treat from Sabrina! That girl knows how to pick good b-day presents!! )

Aww, how cute about Murph dog. The cupcake is a-okay for lunch in my book, I mean hey, you technically can be celebrating your bday all the way from your surprise party to your actual birthday!

My husband thought I was crazy when I bought a friend nut butter for her birthday! But I know that my favorite gifts are edible gifts – especially good nut butter! :)

Is Barney Butter not sold in Boston? I eat the skin of my kiwi too – people think that’s weird, but I enjoy the extra texture!

Mmmm, peanut butter and banana sandwiches are the best! Last time I treated myself to one was last August, after I had hiked 3.1 miles up a mountain. I remember being in complete sweaty bliss while I sat on a rock getting sprayed by the waterfall and looking out across the Smoky Mountain range. Gorgeous memory!
