Gooooood morning!! Despite the blah weather, I’m lovin’ today!
I started my morning, bright and early, at 5:01 AM for a Body Pump class with Marie and “Vicky,” and then I ate a delicious breakfast at my favorite local diner. It’s only 9:00 AM, but I’m already having quite an ideal day.
Snack
Before going to the gym, I snacked on a Fiber Plus bar, which Kellogg sent me to sample a few weeks ago. I liked this bar better than most of the “fake” bars out there, but I’m not sure it’s something I’d buy. The chocolate was tasty, but there were too many hard-to-pronounce ingredients in it.

Breakfast
After Body Pump, Marie and I treated ourselves to a special weekday breakfast at the Wheelhouse Diner. I’m not going to lie, we were both giddy with excitement when we got there. It felt like we were playing hooky from school!
I started with hot coffee with cream and sugar.

Then, I ordered a #3, which is 2 eggs with homefries and toast. I picked rye bread because it typically has more fiber than whole wheat.

I topped my eggs and homefries with hot sauce. So delish!

This huge breakfast (with coffee) only cost $3.50!

I love that today started with my favorite type of morning!
Question of the Day

Oh…I’d have a good strong run in the morning, then I’d go to Wholefoods, money not a problem (but a USA one so I could get good peanut butter :p), I’d have an amazing meal at a restaurant, I’d go a big theme park, and I’d watch a brilliant film in the cinema
I’m so wild lol…
oh i love your morning already-so fun…..gosh ideal day? get on my bike for a long ride…..come home and pack a euro picnic complete with wine and enjoy at the peach or a park with hubby….then come home and take a nap!
A great breakfast after a great workout. Definitely sounds like a nice morrning.
My ideal day would be waking up to the sound of my toddler climbing into bed for cuddle time. Followed by a family breakfast at home. Some beach time in the morning. A hockey game in the afternoon and a lazy evening at home!
I was just daydreaaming (and blogging about it) about going to Charleston. There’s a few restaurants I’d love to try – and in my perfect world, with this perfect weather, I’d spend the day walking about Charleston trying new restaurants and having a few cocktails on a patio somewhere.
Oh well – it’s Thursday and I’m sitting at my desk. A girl can dream, right?
HOT coffee? So unlike you!
Mmm that breakfast looks so delicious. I need to make some homefries tomorrow.
Your breakfast looks deeeeeeelish!
My ideal day would include all of my favorite foods (lots of bread + cheese), and fun things for hubby and I to do and places to explore. I don’t know exactly what, I’d have to give it a lot of thought.
Jenn
I’d wake up in my private villa on a Greek island, eat breakfast at a cafe, then take in the sights. I also wouldn’t have the massive headache my real today has.
Ideal morning would be going for nice run on the beach! Preferably the Virgin Islands
I put hot sauce (or salsa) on my eggs and home fries too… YUM.
Perfect day? A whole day out on the lake with my dog, hubby, and friends. Swimming, water skiing, a few brewskies, and topping it all off with grilling out on the island! ahhhh…. c’mon Memorial Day weekend!
Good for you getting up so early to hit the gym! Thinking of the good food on the other side of the workout always helps me power through it
And if I got to do anything right now I think I’d go to DisneyLand!! I think it would be even more magical as an adult!
So happy for you! I love relaxing morning! My ideal day would basically follow what you’ve done: get a sweat in, shower up, go out for a delish breakfast, walk around Boston on a nice day, eat a light lunch, take a little nap and then go to a Cetics game and end it all with beer and chocolte and maybe some peanut butter too!). Hehe
Ohhhhh man…those fiber bars make my stomach explode. This is probably TMI, but they give me really bad gas! (talk about something my ideal day would NOT include, lol). It’s a shame too, because they’re pretty tasty!
Hope your good day continues!
My ideal day would start out with Body Pump + a short run, followed by a good shower/prettying routine. I would get a Jugo Juice smoothie for breakfast (my favourite place!), and then head to Whole Foods for a looong shopping trip. I’d spend the rest of the day wandering around and shopping in downtown Toronto, followed by dinner somewhere fancy, probably involving wine
Then a late-night stop for some frozen yogurt, and spending the rest of the evening in bed watching my favourite tv shows.
My ideal day would definitely include brunch!
$3.50 for that?! What a great deal! My ideal day would involve a lot of relaxing outdoors – at the beach, at a coffee shop, at a bookstore – without having the “need” to be doing other things.
The breakfeast looks so good. Sounds like a great start to the day.
My ideal day would be to ride my bike 1-2 miles to a park by the ocean or a lake and then go for a 4 mile run, go out for a breakfast (on the water of course), take an easy afternoon hike in the mountains, and then more food- nice dinner with hubby and relaxing with some wine and good music……. are we there yet??
That looks delicious! I love having breakfast out during the week–it feels like such a special treat. My ideal day would be waking up after an overnight flight and being in London.
Going straight from Heathrow to Hyde Park, laying in the grass for a couple of hours, then going to tea at the Orangery. More walking around, catching a show and then a late dinner on Brick Lane.
I’d take a long flight to Rome or Greece and find the best hole-in-the-wall restaurant to pig out!
Ohh brunch! How luckyyy! My ideal day would be to wake up at my lake house in NH, go for a run, shower & grab brunch at my fav local place (very similar to the diner), spend the rest of the day on the beach/on the boat, then finish up with a BBQ, bonfire & concert on said beach.
Hopefully, thats exactly what this weekend will entail!
What a great way to start your day!! And only $3.50???? That’s ahh-mazing! My perfect day: I would wake up early (fully refreshed though) with an already clean house, with no dishes or laundry to be done, enjoy a delicious and health breakfast, some hot coffee with a mag/newspaper/book, and then head off for a random road trip with my hubby!!
I love to at breakfast out…it is by far my most favorite meal! My ideal day would start with a fabulous run followed by one on one time with my husband…maybe at a pool or a lake!
Massive breakfast, private jet, shopping spree in Italy, luxury spa treatment, sunset cruise in Greece…and could Tyson Beckford be my escort for the day? lol
ok first i would be living in an adorable southern victorian house in savannah GA.i would wake up to the sound of rain.after a breakfast of oatmeal
.i would find a good book, sit out on the front porch and burying myself into my book for a few hours.later after a super yummy lunch,i would go explore and photograph the beautiful georgia coastline.then come home to whip up an amazing southern dinner for me a some guests that are arriving soon……i gotta stop,to much dreaming and scheming…haha
My ideal day would be to wake up, go for a nice run, come back to fresh baked muffins/bread with great coffee. Sit outside and enjoy my breakfast and then shop all day and buy whatever I want!
I love going out to breakfast! I didn’t know that rye has more fiber than whole wheat- thanks for the tidbit. Hot sauce+ eggs= awesome! I hope the rest of you day is just as enjoyable!
Um fly to the Caribbean and never come back?
Finally tried Wheelhouse last weekend thanks to your recomendation. We only waited about 2 minutes for a table on Sunday! I had banana pancakes and the manfriend had some sort of croissant with tomato, hash, and egg with sauce on it. So delish! Thanks for the rec!
My ideal would be waking up at sea and spending the day in the sun with the company of family and friends!
My ideal day would consist of a good solid run in the morning preferably in a scenic area, breakfast at a cute cafe, pedicure, exploring outdoors, and cocktails on the patio with the hub.
My ideal morning would be walking on an empty beach barefoot, then sitting with my big mug over green tea with the paper in the cottage porch with my feet up,followed by a yummy brekky at a local restaurant, then a hot bath, then to lie on beach falling asleep while reading with the gentle sea breeze, and then go for a massage!!!
(“dream” morning I may add!!!!)
An ideal day for me is sleeping in, breakfast/brunch with my family, then cuddling up watching movies and lots of play time. We do it every Saturday and it’s the best.
I would seriously start off an ideal day exactly as you did. Then I would wander around whole foods and buy everything I wanted. Going out to breakfast is one of my favorite things in the world!
My ideal day would start around 7 haha and definitely involve a good work out first and them some delicious breakfast. Maybe I would be on a gorgeous island, or in a cool city just because this is my ideal day
Oh, I’m glad you’re having a good day! Breakfast certainly sets my mood straight in the morning.
My ideal day would be a very lazy one. It would involve baking, movies, a long walk, and staying up late. I really don’t know, actually… I guess I’ll know my perfect day when I come across it.
Wei-Wei
I would drive up to Canada with a bunch of my friends. I don’t know what we would do, but every time we go up to Canada it ends up being the highlight of our summers even if it is a day trip.
@Anna @ Newlywed, Newly Veg: those bars did the same thing to me!!!!
I would have a great workout, go shopping (if $ is not an issue I would buy tons) have a relaxing lunch with wine and dessert and take a nap.
woo – 5:01 AM bodypump class. Major props for starting your day like that. my ideal day involves my hubby, copious amounts of coffee, and the Sunday NY Times.
my ideal day would definitely be sleeping in til about 8, waking up and doing some kind of awesome workout (like hiking!), then eating a really great brunch. the rest of the day would be spent by the pool (if we had one), and then cooking a really fabulous dinner for friends
If money weren’t an issue, i’d rent an airplane with some friends and spend the day at a luxurious spa somewhere near the ocean
Yumm!! Lucky YOU for having a weekday diner breakfast!
I think my ideal day would most likely include breakfast at my FAVORITE restaurant, which would consist of oatmeal red raspberry pancakes, maybe a trip to the spa for a massage, spending time with both friends & my hubby, and would definitely conclude with a HUGE ice cream sundae!
Yoga, coffee, breakfast, beach!!!
I think my ideal day if money were not an issue would be to hop on a personal jet to the Caribbean and spend the day on the beach eating fresh fruit and then go out to a nice dinner of some good seafood after a long walk on the beach. Too bad that will NEVER happen. LOL
Glad your day is going so well.
What a great morning!!! My ideal day would consist of a great run, spending time with the boy and my family, and some good food!
Hmmm…I think it would first involve a workout of some sorts, maybe a 5 mile run. Followed by going for a massage, then a lunch by the ocean, followed with icecream, and moving on to swimming and ending with a campfire on the beach complete with lobster and lots of friends/family.
And maybe some horseback riding on the beach too for good measure.
My ideal day would be waking up,walking to an outdoor cafe in Paris, having brunch which would consist of a chocolate croissant, fresh berries, and a latte of course! Lots of people watching, then followed by a walk to the Rodin museum where I would eat lunch in the gardens and read a book. Aaahhhh, sounds wonderful!
My ideal day would involve waking up at 4AM after a night of perfect camping (i.e. terrible sleep) with a few friends and family members to go hike up a Colorado 14er under bluebird skies and perfect weather all day long….no worries about death by lightning or that sort of thing. I would feel strong and amazing the entire way up and down. The views would inspire me; the summit would thrill me. I would arrive back at the car completely and utterly exhausted, but sooooooo proud of myself for living life to its fullest. All of us would then go have pizza and beer afterward to celebrate our accomplishment and get some calories back into us!
Lordie. I want that day right now.
I had my ideal morning this past weekend! Getting up, having a simple breakfast, playing tennis with the love of my life…then going on a long walk on the beach to a local gourmet coffee shoppe and just chatting about life.
mmmm i just love rye bread! my ideal day would involve some kind of road tripping action – waking up, grabbing a muffin from my favorite bakery, and driving someplace where we would walk all day – like disneyland!
