I published this post right before my blog blew up, so, just in case you missed it, here it is!
Bin Ends is quite the hidden gem. I actually feel sort of weird telling the world about it. It’s a nice little secret to have!

A couple of months ago, I bumped into Megan at the Oldways “For the Health of It” event, we started chatting, and she tipped me off to Bin Ends. Megan and I planned to maybe meet up at Bin Ends on Saturday afternoon (she had some wine to pick up), and luckily we got to see her and her husband. We only chatted for a few minutes, but it was nice to see them, especially since they like good, affordable wine!
When we arrived at Bin Ends, I was, of course, psyched to see that they were holding a wine tasting. (I’m such a dork.)

Bin Ends is a big ol’ warehouse full of wine. It’s basically the Filene’s Basement of Wine!
A reviewer on Yelp explains Bin Ends really well:
The idea here is that unlike most wine stores that keep pretty much the same wines on hand, Bin Ends is going to get a set amount of wine, priced very reasonably then every 3 weeks, it make it 10% cheaper, until they are totally sold out! So the game is, a bottle is Crios Torrontes is a good deal now at $12, but can you wait 3 weeks to see if you can get it for less?
The edges of the store are organized by region and then scattered through the middle are some especially great deals. I found a Layer Cake Malbec I never even knew existed and was impressed at how many good bottles were in the store with about 50% of them marked at $16 or less! Not sure what to get? They always have about 6/8 bottles open for you to try and soon will have tasting machines with 8 white and 8 red wines! Then, in the back, you will find a bin that truly fits the name of the store.
bin end (plural bin ends)
def: last bottle of batch of wine: one of the last bottles remaining from a single production of wine, often sold at a reduced price

Bin Ends also carries a decent selection of beer (lots of local brews!) and spirits.

After shopping around for a bit, Mal and I popped over to sample a few wines: a Riesling from upstate New York and a Rosé from Burgundy.

Mal and I left with 2 bags full of wine (and beer). We STOCKED UP! And, for the price, it was an amazing deal.

I don’t think we’ll need to buy wine for awhile now!

Ahh I’m SO glad you are back! And that wine sounds GOOD!
Well, I’m pretty sure you can feel safe telling secrets like these, as I think a lot of your readers (like me) don’t live in Boston! So you’re safe for the minute, at least
That’s awesome! Welcome back
Wei-Wei
Ohhh I live in Wine Country NY (aka the Finger Lakes Region). Which winery was your Riesling from?
Welcome back
Ooooh a wine fridge! I’ve just been DYING to get one of those! How long have you had yours? How do you like it? Would you recommend a single temp one or a multi-temp?
Yahoo, your back! I was really bummed when things were all messed up. I know it may sound really lame but reading your journal and a few other lovely ladies journals is my me time. I have started my own little Journal and would love feedback or comments!!
