Mal has been on a serious birthday bender for the past few days:
It’s been a pretty rockin’ birthday for him, huh?
Mal’s final birthday celebration started with a glass of wine at our apartment with his parents. I’ve been boozing face lately, so I only drank a tiny glass of wine. I didn’t want to be a party pooper for my husband’s final b-day hurrah.

I need an alcohol detox.

Murphy doesn’t like to miss any sort of excitement, so, with company over, he struggled to stay awake.

Look at those tired eyes. Poor pug.

For dinner, the four of us headed to Acapulcos, a Mexican restaurant in Quincy Center.

Hola, Mal!

Our meal began with homemade tortilla chips and salsa, which were promptly delivered to our table even before we ordered drinks. The tortilla chips were my favorite kind– thick, crisp, golden, and not too greasy.

The salsa had lots of flavor, but unfortunately, it was somewhat watery.

Cheers to Mal!
(I drank water with dinner and my liver thanked me.)

The table spilt an appetizer of Chimi Poppers, which were made with cream cheese, a blend of cheeses, and chopped jalapeños, stuffed inside mini chimis.

The Chimi Poppers were served with a sweet and sour sauce. I loved them and ended up eating two. My in-laws like them as well, but Mal wasn’t a fan. He said they had too much cream cheese.

For my entree, I ordered a veggie Quesadilla with spinach. I’m not sure spinach was the best choice for a quesadilla, but I still ate two pieces and saved the rest for later. It was a huge portion!

The series final of Lost is on TV tonight! GAH!!!!! I can’t believe the show is coming to an end. I’ve devoted 6+ years to it, and it’s crazy to think that it’s almost over.
Off to change into my PJs and watch Lost!
Good night!

Looks like a very fun-filled weekend!
Oh the quesadilla espinaca is my favorite dish at my Mexican restaurant. I have officially decided spinach goes with anything and everything Mexican!
I’m watching Lost tonight as well. It’s definitely bittersweet to see it go after we’ve spent so many years together….
I’m glad Mal had a good birthday weekend! I’m a big fan of spinach quesadillas, but I can see how you can have a love/hate relationship with them. Enjoy Lost!
Isn’t it funny how when you have great friends you end up celebrating your birthday over and over again? But, I’m lost on the “too much cream cheese” statement. How can you have too much cream cheese? Just kidding…:)
That Mexican food looks delish! Glad the bday celebration was nice!
I love LOST! can’t believe its over!!!!
your poor dog gives the most pathetic looks!
Poor Murph… he’s like a little kid! Do you have any expectations for the Lost finale tonight? I’m not sure how my life will go on tomorrow!
Sounds like Mal had a great 28th birthday! I haven’t ever watched Lost, but I’ve heard lots of people who are really into it. I had Mexican last weekend – I love the fresh tortilla chips! It’s so hard not to eat too many, though.
HAHAHA. MURPHY. (Sorry.)
I am watching the lost season finale, too. Except there are ten million commercials!! Luckily I have blogs to entertain me
Glad the birthday weekend was such a success!
I’m so pumped that the finale is on tonight! I’m a big LOSTie. I even had a LOST-themed dinner tonight in the finale’s honor (i.e. how many dishes can I incorporate coconut into? lol). After six years of watching these characters, I hope the answers we get tonight are as amazing as I always hoped they would be!
Enjoy the finale!
Dinner looks tasty. Enjoy the show!
That’s a whole lotta salsa.
Can you believe that I have absolutely no idea what Lost is?!?!?! I must live in a box!
Happy Birthday, Mal! Oh, and I hope the finale was great..it’s kinda of bitter sweet to end such a long following, huh?
Awww poor little Murphy! That’s kinda how I feel right now!
I kind of like the idea of a whole decanter of salsa. Granted, ’twas for the table, but I might be able to polish that pourable mass o’ tomato off myself…
I wonder how many people are going to experience Lost loss trauma..
i love that carafe of salsa!
i’m sad about Lost ending too. i’ve been a fan since the beginning. you shoudl check out my interview with daniel dae kim (who plays jin) about his diet on my blog:

Mmmm Mexican food. I haven’t had Mexican in ages, strangely enough, so that needs to change this week!
Mmm the salsa looks amazing! Seems like a great celebration! But is two slices of quesadilla really enough? Seems like quite a small portion.
Murphy has so much personality! those poppers look like spring rolls, anything deep fried is tasty in my book.
Wow I can’t believe you blogged this much over your weekend! You are a very, very good blogette : P Glad to hear that Mal had a spectacular birthday!!
Sounds like you had a great weekend, Tina! Everything, from the hotel to the Mexican, is making me green with jealousy!
Wow, looks like Mal had a great birthday weekend. Those poppers look stellar!
Mal must’ve had such a great birthday, you guys did so much! My birthday is on Thursday – all I’ll be doing is studying as I have exams every day this week! Bah :s
I hope Lost was good!
Oops, I gave up on lost in about season 3. I had masses of university work to do and something had to give, so Lost was canned. I kinda regret that now… hope the finale is all you want it to be
I can’t stand watery salsa, it’s like dipping a chip into spicy water. Blek!
Looks like Mal had a great birthday weekend!! So much fun, such awesome food + company!
Jenn
The more I think about it the more I loved the finale. I think I cried about 5 times during it though. My liver is currently hating me after this weekend also.
What were your thoughts on LOST? I’m a little disatisfied, I have to admit… I feel like some important things are still so ambiguous!
I loved the finale. I feel like all is right with the island. Still, today I feel strange, like I lost a bunch of friends. I’m sick. Speaking of which, check out my “You know you’re addicted to Lost when…” post. As a fellow Lost fan, you might appreciate it.
Ugh, I’ve been such a booze face lately too…with gradation from college, birthdays, and bachelorette parties it seems like we’re always going out! Looks like y’all had a great celebration for Mal’s birthday though!
