Too Thick for a Straw

April 8, 2010

Now that’s what I call a smoothie!

Inspired by the Green Monster Movement, I threw together my own GM creation, which had a yummy Almond Joy flavor to it. (If you haven’t noticed by now, I’m sort of obsessed with Almond Joy! It’s my favorite flavor of ice cream. ;-) )

In the mix:

This baby was so thick and creamy! In fact, it was so thick, I ended up eating it with a spoon instead of a straw– and it was so delicious and incredibly filling. I’m actually pretty surprised that it satisfied me like it did. Usually, smoothies do nothing for my hunger level– I need that “chew factor” to feel satisfied, ya know? I guess this one was thick enough that it felt like I was eating something, not just drinking it.

There’s also an iced coffee in my future this morning. I’ll probably make one to take to NuVal with me.

Scanpan Giveaway

I’m just full of giveaways this week, aren’t I? Well, here’s a GOOD one for ya! :-D

You can win a 10-inch Scanpan CTX Nonstick Skillet!!!!!

Scanpan CTX Fry Pan_10-inch.jpg

Scanpan is the first producer of nonstick cookware certified PFOA free, so it’s safe for you and the earth. The unique cooking surface of these skillets is safe for metal utensils and allows for browning, searing and deglazing—things you can’t do with traditional nonstick.

It requires little to no fat for cooking, so you can enjoy a healthy meal with minimal cleanup. The 5-layer clad-aluminum construction means heat is distributed evenly and efficiently without creating hotspots.

To Enter: Visit the Sur la Table website, shop around, and leave a comment on this post about a product that you would most like to try. I’ll randomly pick a winner tomorrow afternoon.

Good luck!

P.S. Speaking of giveaways, you still have a chance to win the Pufferfish Wristlet! The contest goes until tonight at midnight. ;-)

Definately the Cuisinart ice cream maker. It would be fun to experiment with different (and maybe weird) flavors!!!

I would love to try the vita mix or one of their cute ice cream makers. How can you pick just one thing to try from their site?

I would LOVE to try the 3 cup Bodem French Press! I was drinking WAY too much coffee before and had to do a detox program because of it, therefore the small french press would be helpful for limiting myself to 1 cup per day of coffee.

There is SO MUCH kitchenware I need. I would love to have a dutch oven, a food processor, a good blender – but I’d definitely be happy with this skillet!
