Seasons 52

April 11, 2010

Look who I bumped into tonight: CaitlinGina, and Julie! I have a feeling that you probably recognize these lovely ladies from the blog world. ;-)

Tonight, we met at Seasons 52 in Orlando for appetizers, drinks, and dessert.

Seasons 52 is a healthy grill and wine bar with a seasonally changing menu. It sounded like the perfect place to meet a bunch of healthy living bloggers.

Our evening started with a round of drinks. I ordered a glass of Chardonnay.

Each of us had eaten dinner (or snacked) before getting together, so we shared a bunch of appetizers instead of ordering entrees:

Golden Beets with Wasabi Dipping Sauce

Eggplant Flatbread with Mushrooms, Tomatoes, and Feta

Housemade Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli with roasted garlic and sweet basil in a light tomato broth

Kalymnos Greek Salad with Feta cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, sliced red onions and kalamata olives

Even though I had already eaten dinner, I tried a little bit of everything that we ordered. What can I say, I can always eat! ;-)

Once we finished the appetizers, we ordered a second round of drinks. More Chardonnay for me!

And, then it was time for dessert… well, “mini indulgences.” ;-)

From the Seasons 52 website:

The whole concept of the mini indulgence is just that– indulgence in a smaller portion size. The desserts are designed to feature high-impact flavors and top quality ingredients, such as Belgian Callibut chocolate. Seasons 52 makes the real thing… dessert… in all its decadence, and then they put it into a shot-size glass, so you get to have all of the pleasure and none of the guilt– along with the chance to try more than one in a visit!

Holy yum!

Not surprisingly, I chose the Carrot Cake, which was oh so heavenly! The cream cheese frosting was thick and sweet, and there was plenty of it!

Caitlin and me!

Gina and Julie!

Of course, a second Carrot Cake “mini indulgence” was a no-brainer. ;-)

What an awesome way to end the day. Great friends and great food!

I love that idea of mini desserts – I went to a restuarant once on ‘dessert night’ and it was just 3 desserts for main, and 3 more for dessert! It was amazing, cos they were all small :D PERFECT!
I’m glad you had a great night :)

No fair! Why can’t we have restaurants like that in Australia? Or even anywhere that serves carrot cake, no matter if it’s “healthy” or not. Ah well, vicarious living through you again!
