Cakes Bakery & Cafe

April 29, 2010

Awww, what a cute place! :-D

After breakfast, I met Christine at Cakes, a bakery and cafe in Lower Mills, for a business meeting/coffee date. We spent about an hour chatting about the possibility of working together in the future. (Remember the reusable produce bags?) We’ll see what happens!

Cakes was, oh, so adorable! And, it’s so close to where I live– I had no idea! I already have plans to go back and do some work there sometime soon.

I think Murphy would really like Cakes, too!

Cakes has a huge menu of beverages, pastries, desserts (cupcakes!), freshly baked breads, and lots more– all of which looked wonderful.

The space itself is beautiful– big, bright, and open with lots of couches, comfy chairs, and a side counter by the window. I can already see myself working there with a coffee and a cupcake! There’s also free Wi-Fi!

And soy milk + agave nectar on the coffee bar. Sweet!

While chatting with Christine, I sipped on an iced coffee.

I also stopped by the main counter for a couple of samples on my way out.

I loved Cakes! I’ll definitely be back!

Aah free samples – I LOVE them! I once found the most incredible brioche bread from the free samples they were handing out; I froze a slice in my freezer for about 6months, so I had something to look forward to :P

I love the idea of reusable produce bags! Just this weekend my husband said to me – they really need to come out with reusable produce bags, I said they probably exist – we just need to find them! I am going to check out the website from your original post. Thanks!
