Blizzard Dinner

April 15, 2010

Earlier this evening, I burned a whole bunch of calories at the gym. I did 45 minutes on the elliptical, ran for 15 minutes, and then evened it all out by eating a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard from Dairy Queen. It’s all about balance, right? ;-)

Damn, these things are GOOD! Best dinner I’ve eaten in awhile!

Lunch

For some reason, I totally forgot to take photos of my lunch this afternoon. I’ve been blogging for over 2 years now, so you’d think it’d be second nature to me by now, right?!

I ate my carrot sticks and orange before I even thought to snap a photo, so there’s just a shot of the aftermath. Oops! Lunch also included a vanilla Chobani and a packet of maple brown sugar instant oatmeal.

Snack

After work, I snacked on a piece of whole wheat toast with buffalo sauce and melted mozzarella on top. It was such a good snack. I also munched on a handful of almonds, but I forgot to take a photo of those, too. I don’t know where my brain was today?! :-?

That is so cool that Healthworks is doing that event. Those marathoners deserve something like that!

After a hard training session, I do feel like I deserve some cookies or something like that sometimes too! It was well earned!

I am just catching up on my blog reading… sorry that you didn’t have a great experience this week. I don’t know what happened, but I hope you are feeling better. Sometimes life just throws us road blocks. You have a whole blogging community cheering you on and supporting you!
On a happier note, I LOVE blizzards but haven’t had one in years. Your dinner looks fabulous. My favorite flavor is Cookie Dough :) Makes me smile just thinking about it! Hope you have a fabulous Friday!

BLIZZARDS!!! Amazing. I don´t have a DQ close by now, but when I was a kid growing up in Ohio I used to always get a blizzard with Nerds. The colored little chunks of sugar. Looking back on this I want to shake myself… nerds instead of Reese´s or Cookie Dough?? What was I thinking?!?! Anyway, great dinner :)

That blizzard totally negates any exercise: 600 cal + 20g fat in a small

My favorite pasta dish is ANY pasta w/a marinara sauce and any kind baked chicken. My Dad told a story of when he was very young and a spaghetti w/chicken dinner was one of his all time favorite meals. His story sounded so good, I fell in love w/pasta and chicken too!

I love that you enjoyed your dinner — it looked delicious! :) Sometimes you just need to go with what you’re craving. I bet it was super-satisfying, too.

@Samantha- It doesn’t negate her exercise at all! She worked hard at the gym and burned around 600 calories at least. She can eat a blizzard for dinner if she wants to. The point of exercise isn’t JUST to lose weight or else I would have given up a long time ago. It’s about taking care of your heart and getting a good cardio workout. It’s about feeling good physically and mentally. If you don’t splurge every once in a while you’re going to go crazy! At least, that’s my opinion.

Tina- We drove up to N.C. yesterday and passed SO many DQ’s and now I wish I would have stopped. There’s always the return trip! ;)

Oh my gosh, I LOVE blizzards!!! SO jealous. I was craving one so bad yesterday, but they closed the DQ near my house :( Might have to trek out to the nearest one this weekend!

I love blizzards for dinner. I try to do it only a couple of times during the summer and I enjoy it each time.

Ahhh I hadn’t been to DQ in years until a couple of weeks ago – had myself a Midnight Truffle Blizzard. Um…can I just say – worth. every. single. damn. calorie.

Oh. Your buffalo mozzarella toast sounds so delicious. I really like that idea for a quick, savory snack. I can imagine myself just putting it in the oven until it is brown and bubbly. Thanks!
