What a Run

March 7, 2010

Wow. What a run! I just ran my fastest 3 miles ever in 24:55!!!  At times, it was painful, but it felt SO great to beat my PR!

It was such a beautiful morning, Mal and I decided to go for a run together. We started out at 9-minute mile pace, but after a few minutes, we decided to pick it up. Mal wore my Garmin, so he kept track of our pace and pushed us to run faster for the entire 3 miles. It was tough, but my husband kept me motivated. With a 1/2 mile to go, I gritted my teeth and went all out to keep up with him. I could barely feel my legs as we sprinted down our street, but somehow, I did it!

Once I finished, I was exhausted, but so psyched! :-D

Check out these splits! I don’t think I’ve ever run this fast!

Breakfast

Before Mal and I went out for our run, I ate some breakfast. I had a toasted Sandwich Thin with an egg and buffalo sauce.

On the side, I had a juicy, pink grapefruit.

And, as always, iced coffee with vanilla hemp milk.

My To Do list for today is a mile long! I guess I had too much fun playing yesterday. :-?

See ya! 8-)

Isn’t it technically 3 miles in 24:42 since you had that last extra 100+ feet/13 seconds? Take every last second you can get! :)

nice run! PRs feel so good.

I also just wanted to say, thanks for being such a great blogger! I’ve been reading for a while, but I just looked at your “lose the dough” challenge page and it reminded me why I love your blog: you’re such a great example of healthy balance. Your blog is a fun read–you work out hard, eat very healthfully, but still seem to have lots of fun/a relaxed attitude towards food! so thanks!

The weather has been amazing here as well. After an afternoon at the park, I took my oldest daughter out (while Daddy and the baby napped and did homework) so that we could start gearing up for our Mother/Daughter 10k we have at the end of April. We did 3 miles as well, but ours were done in 40 minutes. Of course – I was running with a 9 year old so that was a great start for her!! Congrats on your time…that’s an awesome feeling I know!
