Waaah!!!
It’s pouring outside! The winds are howling and it’s 42*F, but feels like 23*F with the wind chill. Perfect day for a road race, right?

I ended up buying a new rain coat for just the occasion, but it’s all about the layers today!

Race day outfit:
Shamrock socks!
Let’s hope that my race day gadgets survive the rain!

For breakfast, I made myself one of my favorite race day meals: peanut butter + banana sandwich.

Yum!

I’m not sure if I am looking forward to this race or not. At least it will be an adventure, right? And, the green beer is totally worth it!

Good luck on the race! It will be an adventure, stay semi warm and dry. Your shamrocks will get you through
I love the new coat. I would not be looking forward to a race in this weather either, but I definitely think it will end up being fun memories for you!
You’re going to do awesome! That breakfast is my pre-race one of choice too – it’ll keep you going, despite the weather! M y first ever race was in howling wind and rain :p it makes you feel more noble after! GOOD LUCK!
It will definitely be worth it. Is there green beer at the end?
Good luck today! Try to stay warm and dry, can’t wait for the recap!
ahh i love your socks…a while ago i wanted to get themes socks for every holiday but i only have one

This weather sucks. I want to be excited but this is just not cool. Hopefully I’ll see you there!
Good luck!!! Stay dry!
aww it’s not easy being green!! especially when its pouring outside! I have to hand it to you, all I want to do today is crawl in my bed and sleep with the way this weather is! good luck!!
That’s some serious dedication…I’m impressed. I can’t imagine running a 5K in this weather…running a block and a half to my car last night was enough for me!
Good luck!
I am in Boston for the weekend and the weather has been unreal. So windy and rainy! Yesterday I was almost blown away. Literally. Good luck at the race!
Have fun at the race – it’ll make for a great story afterwards!
I hope your race went well and you were able to stay warm and dry (for the most part). Sorry we Minnesotans sent you our cold, rainy weather
Can’t wait to hear the recap!
Cool jacket-good luck and have fun!
Ew! You are a brave woman. If I were you I’d totally skip it! This weather sucks.
If you run fast, you can get to somewhere dry and warm quicker
Good luck!
Aw man those sox are priceless! Stay warm ‘n’ dry!! Have a great race.
Hey, at least it’s not sweltering hot! Cute outfit
I’m loving the green! Good luck in that weather:)
Good luck!!! I adore all of your St. Patrick’s attire! So cute
I know you’re gonna rock this race! xoxo
Boo for races in monsoons!
Good luck!
Good luck, Tina!! Hope the rain doesn’t ruin your race!!
Hope you keep all of your electronics dry! Green beer is ALWAYS worth it!
Your shamrock socks will surely keep you warm and get you through a great race!
yikes, i’ve only ran one race (also a 5k) in the rain and cold. the weather wasn’t the bad part, it was the side stitch i got partway through. so no worries on the weather. i hope you keep your gadgets dry, though! cute socks
and i had that same breakfast as my pre-gym fuel this morning too. yum!
Have a great race!!!
I hope it all goes(went?) well!
Good luck for your race! I hope you don’t get to wet! x
Is it hard to run in the rain? I’m always afraid of slipping and that has held me back from some runs in the past =/
You’re going to have such a good time, even though it’s a little wet! Everyone in their fun green running gear AND green beer!!
Oh boo for yucky race day weather. But you are right, at least it’ll be an adventure. You’ll talk about it for years I’m sure. Enjoy your reward of green beer!!
Wow, you’re hard-core. I would use that kind of weather as an excuse to stay in bed. Course, I’m a California girl so I’m a lot wimpier when it comes to the weather!
Good luck on the race! Hope the rain lets up a bit :-/
Can’t wait to hear the recap! Hope the weather wasn’t too bad.
Good luck today!
Cant wait to hear all about it!!
You know,I’ve never understood that whole “feels like” thing. Tome, if it feels like 23, then it is 23! Why get our hopes up pretending it’s higher? I also want to steal your socks. And good luck!!
You look great, Tina!
Good Luck!
Eeek! I I had to run in what I saw out my window this morning I don’t think I would have gone. Now it is much nicer and I’m thinking about an outdoor run.
Good thing you got a rain coat. Hope your camera and iPod stayed dry.
I can’t wait for the recap…so sorry the weather is nasty!!
You’re going to rock the race, winter weather and all! =]
Tina you look so cute with all your St Patty’s day garb!! it’s such a mess out there. I love how you are looking at it as an adventure. good luck!
The winds are horrible. I couldn’t fly out because of all the delays they caused last night! I hope your race went well!
Blech, I drove all the way to Russo’s in Watertown for cheap veggies after church on Newbury St this morning. Driving and running in and out of the grocery store was a huge pain, I think you are a SUPERSTAR for running in this mess! Hope you stayed warm and don’t catch a cold!
Enjoy the beer- you earned it!
Good luck today!! Ugh….I dislike being in the rain!!! Fortunately it’s not a half marathon or something longer!!
Green beer totally makes up for the rain
GOOD LUCK! I’m sure you will do amazing! Love the shamrock you are sporting.
Good luck Tina! I live in Boston and just walking anywhere in this weather is ridiculous!
Ahh, sounds gross!! I’ve run 2 different races in the rain and ended up having a great time at both…hope yours went well!!
