I’m feeling so much better!
I’m not 100% quite yet, but my fever is gone and my energy level is almost back to normal. I still have a runny nose, but the head-cold pressure is mostly gone. An early bedtime is on the agenda for tonight, so hopefully, some quality rest will help me make a full recovery by tomorrow.
The BEAUTIFUL weather also made me feel much better!

When Mal got home from work, we took Murph for a long walk around the neighborhood. We walked and talked and soaked in the sunshine. It was nice.

Gorgeous weather obviously calls for flip-flops!

Dinner
Mal and I worked up an appetite after walking with Murphy for more than an hour, so we headed to Finian’s for dinner.
Finian’s has been on my “Need to Try” list for years now. Everyone who I have talked to about this restaurant has raved about it, so I was excited when Mal suggested it for dinner tonight.

Finian’s is a restaurant and pub with an “old-fashioned” vibe. You won’t find funky entrees or trendy cocktails, but Finian’s serves up some quality, homestyle food.
Tonight, the dinner crowd seemed to be mostly families and retirees. Mal and I were easily the youngest adults in the whole place– although, we felt totally welcome! Finian’s has an extensive menu of mostly American-style, comfort food at very reasonable prices.

Our meal started with dinner rolls and corn bread muffins. I ate one of the corn bread muffins and Mal ate the rest!

After we ordered our food, Mal and I filled out our brackets for March Madness. This year, we’ve decided to strategically diversify our efforts so maybe we can win some money!

For dinner, I ordered the salmon salad (in honor of last Friday’s “For the Health of It” event
). The salmon was very tasty with a buttery, herb-crusted seasoning on the outside. It was tender and “meaty.” I ate every last bite of it!

I was pretty impressed when this salad was served to the table. It was huge, but also packed with veggies– tons of tomatoes, red and green bell peppers, red onions, and sauteed onions.

Now, Mal and I are watching American Idol and eating ice cream. Aren’t you suppose to feed a cold?

Enjoy the evening, blog friends! Normal blogging to resume tomorrow.
G’night!

Glad you are feeling better. And I’m sure Murphy appreciated it too so he could enjoy a long walk.
I think ice cream is good for sickness
and health
and all times haha
Real ice cream? Or Almond Joy ice cream? I can’t tell!
I love when you are expecting a salad to be mediocre and then they bring it out and its actually good sized! glad you are feeling a bit better, will keep my fingers crossed (with the Irish luck) for a full recovery tomorrow!
That salad looks delicious! And you have such a cute dog!
A good appetite is a sign of a healthier lady! Glad to hear you’re feeling better and were able to enjoy the beautiful outdoors today. That salmon salad looks delicious, especially with those amazing sauteed onions.
Enjoy your night and I hope you wake up fully rejuvenated tomorrow!
Finian’s used to be my nana’s hot spot when she lived around the corner (she went for the keno and appletini’s)…there are 2 old people apartment buildings right around the corner from there so that’s why it’s crawling with the old folk
They have really good food though, and it can get poppin’ at night.
Glad you are on the road to health
Your salad looks AMAZING!!!!
And what a good idea bout March Madness!
Oh, I am so glad you are feeling better! Sounds like a great relaxing evening. Get some rest!
I am glad that you are feeling better too. Isn’t the warmer weather and sun fabulous? I was so ready for winter to be over!
You’ve traveled so much in the past couple days! That salmon should definetly help! Hope you enjoyed that ice cream:)
It was so gorgeous in Boston today! Tell me more about this diversity strategy for March Madness. I filled mine out on Monday, maybe I’ll get my money back this year.

Glad to hear that you are feeling better. the salad that came with your salmon is quite impressive
Dinner looks great. That’s an impressive salad for a restaurant. I’m glad to hear you’re feeling better so soon – I’m fighting something off myself.
looks like a great dinner. the salmon sounds so good.
It was definitely flip flop weather in New England today. I wore green ones today
I’m glad you’re feeling better.
Glad you are feeling better! I haven’t filled in any brackets for this year’s tournament yet. I am excited, though – my Alma Mater made it into the first round. I will be thrilled if they make it into round two
wow, i’ve never seen a restaurant dish so veggified! nice. and glad you are feeling better.
I need a pedicure before I can even think of flip-flops
glad to hear you’re feeling better!
I’m amazed at how much they packed into that salad, generous!
I’ve never seen American Idol – but wait til Simon Cowell brings X Factor to the USA this/next year – that’ll be awesome!
Everything looks yummy! I miss salads — you’d think produce would be cheap Down Under, where it’s the end of summer, but it’s way more than in the US.
That salmon salad sounds divine! And so glad you’re feelign better – being sick is the pits!
Killer salad! That’s probably exactly what I would have ordered. I LOVE salmon, and restaurant salads usually make an amazing entree. YUM
Jenn
PS. I would have eaten 3/4 of the bread basket instead of 1/4 LOL
Glad to hear you are feeling better Tina! Looks like a very nice St. Paddys day dinner out
SO happy to hear you’re feeling better!
Oh, and I always feed a cold *and* a fever.
When the temperature rises, so does our protein and energy needs. And somehow a bowl of icecream always feels so good after a fever.
Glad you are feeling better! That resturaunt looks like my kind of place!
I always feed a cold. My appetite is JACKED when I’m sick! Glad you’re feeling better!
Glad you’re feeling better. I hate feeling yucky. But that salad looks like it would’ve made me feel so much better if I was feeling a little under par.
The salad looks really great! I love when a salad is served with little piles of the veggies for a change, rather than all mixed together.
Glad your feeling better, and that dog – CUTE!
That salad looks fantastic!! I’m glad you’re feeling better.
