Yowsahs! 8-O

Where has today gone! I can’t believe that it’s almost 4:00!?! My friend, Jen, is on her way over to hang out and see our new place, so I need to whiz right through this post.

Snack

Mid-morning, I poured myself a glass of iced coffee while I did some writing.

A little while later, I made another Guiltless Goodie.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup chickpeas
  • 1/4 cup almonds
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp molasses
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

Directions: Combine all ingredients in food processor, pour batter into a microwave-safe bowl, and pop in the microwave for 60 seconds.

Makes 2 servings

Workout

Around noon, I finally took a break to squeeze in a quick workout. I ran 3 miles around the neighborhood in 25:35. Then, Murphy and I headed out for a walk. We covered 1.5 miles in about 30 minutes. ;-)

Lunch

This morning, I got a serious craving for a smoothie, so I tweeted for ideas. (Twitter is great for stuff like this! ;-) ) Laura of Run Momma Run gave me a great idea when she tweeted: “It isn’t a smoothie without peanut butter in my book.” Obviously, she was right on and inspired my smoothie this afternoon.

In the mix:

  • 6 oz. Chobani vanilla yogurt
  • 6 oz. vanilla hemp milk
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen butternut squash
  • 1 tbsp Vega Smoothie Infusion
  • Cinnamon
  • Handful of ice

It was a really good smoothie– delicious and SO filling! It was basically a meal in a glass!

Jen is here! Gotta boogie!

That smoothie looks like the perfect combination! Heck yeah to the butternut squash! I love oven roasted butternut squash on top of my oats…I bet it would be so good in a smoothie. I don’t normally do the smoothie thing, but I think I may have to do something like this!

Your “Guiltless Goodie” reminds me of Glutino products (gluten-free), which use garbanzo powder — their chocolate breakfast-type bar is really good, so I bet your mixture hit the spot.

I had a smoothie for lunch this afternoon too! Although mine had mangoes and cherries. I think I was dreaming about a chocolate/PB smoothie in my dreams last night and coming up with a recipe for a healthy one.

I was pumped! about this smoothie till I got to the butternut squash part :> Glad it tasted good though; that’s all that matters! My smoothie this morning was: banana, raspberries, almond breeze, peanut butter, flax, ice, and a little choc. protein powder

Does the butternut squash have a strong taste in the smoothie? I LOVE all squash but hadn’t thought to put it in a smoothie before. I will have to give it a try. Was the guiltless goodie a success? It sure looks god!

A smoothie sounds good right now. I ran 4.5 miles earlier and could use a recovery drink. Unfortunately, the husband is asleep and I don’t think he’d appreciate it if I turned the blender on. :???:
