It’s only lunchtime, but I’ve already enjoyed a seriously delicious day of eats.
I woke up bright and early for my Lose the Dough check-in and a workout at Healthworks. I got my stats taken and then ran 3.5 miles on the treadmill. (Post coming soon!)
After a quick shower, I met Mal, Beth, and Corey for breakfast at Mike & Patty’s.

Mike & Patty’s is one of my favorite places for breakfast, so, of course, we needed to bring our out-of-town guests there to enjoy it themselves.

I knew exactly what I wanted for breakfast: Grilled Banana Sandwich. Ever since the HLS last summer, I’ve been obsessed with it!

Holy, holy, holy yum!

The Grilled Banana Sandwich was made with loads of honey cinnamon butter and sliced banana on thick slices of country white/sourdough bread.

Omg. Heaven.

I also drank an iced coffee with soy milk and cinnamon from Starbucks. (I grabbed it after my workout.)

After breakfast, we visited Harvard Square, walked around, and explored Harvard Yard.

Of course, we said ‘hello’ to John.

On our way back to our Southie, we took a pit-stop at Flour for some goodies.

How adorable is this quote!?!

And, how delicious do these baked goods look!?!

I could not decide what I to order from Flour. I pretty much wanted one of everything!

I ended up going with the Raspberry-Orange Coconut muffin. It just sounded too good to pass up!

Lots more to come this afternoon. I have a blogging backlog!
P.S. Don’t forget that it’s Fashion Week at OpenSky! The Thomas Paul Pufferfish Wristlet in my shop is on sale for 25% off! Just enter FASHIONWEEK25 at check-out.

OMG that grilled banana sandwich looks divine! I know you don’t always WANT to know.. and sometimes NEED to splurge… but please tell me it comes in low cat/fat too?! LOL Any idea on the calorie, fat and fiber content? I’m sure I can create this in a low fat and calorie version… just have to figure out the right ingredients!
Looks great!
I seriously don’t know how you don’t weight 700 lbs…LOL!
I’ve heard so many great things about Flour! It’s adorable inside and the treats look amazing!
Great job on the 3.5 mile run too!
I love Mike & Patty’s and feel crazy lucky that it’s around the corner from the BCAE. I love the torta breakfast sandwich – eggs and refritos mean plenty of protein!
@Beverly P: Sorry, I don’t know.
I am dying over that banana sandwich and I don’t even care for bananas! How amazing. I will definitely check that place out the next time I am in Boston!
That sandwich looks AMAZING!
All these cute little cafes and bakeries that you visit really make me want to visit Boston! I only went once and totally missed all these cute places.
Ah! Love Joanne Chang. I made her homemade oreo recipe in December. Life goal: go to Flour bakery!!
Aaah, I see it is finally snowing there in good old Boston like it is down here in Philly. Gross. That sandwich looks delish tho.
oh my gosh Tina! That banana sammy looks so so good! Whenever I finally make it up to Boston to visit my sister, I’m going to stop by and have breakfast there with you

That banana sandwich looks delish! I think I may try to recreate that at home….we’ll see!
You eat way too many carbs
AHHHHHHH I have been dreaming about Flour ever since I stepped foot there in August during HLS. I got the granola bar (not just any old granola bar) and I am counting down the days/months until I can go in and get it again. You’re making my sweet tooth ache!!
I LOVE grilled banana
So delicious! And that sndwich looks great! I will have to try and recreate it at home
Oh my! I forgot about your post during HLS on Mike and Patty’s. I have to be in Boston in a few weeks and I might get that sandwich.
Hmmm…I’d like to try that grilled banana sandwich with some strawberries thrown in.
Omg that sandwich looks amaaazing. I’m going to have to try to make it! Reading your blog makes me miss living in a city soooo much!
Holy Moley!! Grilled Banana Sandwich!!! Drooling a bit over here!
Another reason why Joanne Chang is a genius– Flour. Next time you MUST get the cinnamon bun. It weighs about 10 pounds but soo worth it.
and YOU are rude!!
Thank you for being such a wonderful foodie role model. Your balance of treats and everyday foods is, to me, the real definition of “healthy”, and your posts brighten my day
oops wrong box! sorry!

I’m so envious of these amazing meals you are eating! Grilled banana sandwich…wow! I am thinking I will be experimenting with that one.
That sandwich looks delish!!! ( I’m not a banana person, but I could always improvise), are all these places you are going to organic?!? Good luck with lose the dough today:) I know you”ll do awesome.
oh my days that breakfast looks INCREDIBLE!! Crikey..!! I love how in the USA people go out for breakfast – no-one does it in England! Yet one more reason to want to move to the USA…..
Andthat cake store…congrats on picking just one! I would’ve bought a whole bunch
OMG that grilled banana sandwich looks to die for! I’m definitely going to have to work on making my own version!
Oh man, that grilled banana sandwich looks delish!
@Madi: Compared to you?
Yum! I need to try Mike & Patty’s. I love creative breakfast foods! Flour Bakery is awesome too. You’ve had quite the foodie morning
Mmmm, all those baked goods look so good! I was just wondering about Lose the Dough– can’t wait to hear your update!
I absolutely love Flour Bakery!! The Cracklin’ is soooo yummy: brioche, honey, almonds and orange marmalade. My roommates brought me home the last bite of hers and it was spectacular!!
I don’t even like bananas but that sammie looks heavenly!
How appropriate – you met Joanne Chang yesterday and went to her bakery today. I went to Flour on Saturday. Looks like it was a bit quieter there today. There was no way I could snap decent photos – the place was packed.
Btw, ever since the first time you blogged about Mike & Patty’s, I’ve been dying to go there after my long run on the weekend. I think this Sunday may be the day. I’d get the exact same thing. Looks heavenly!!
