Pug Loaf

Have you ever seen a pug loaf?

I just had to share this photo! It totally cracked me up!

J3zoipBQBpxank53ZCeZo8UIo1_500.jpg

My afternoon seems like it’s going to get pretty crazy, so I wrote my lunch post after breakfast today. It’s weird writing about lunch before I have actually eaten it, but this method seems to work for me– otherwise, who knows when lunch will get posted!

Lunch

For lunch today, I packed a container of plain Chobani Greek yogurt.

IMG_4646.JPG

And some more “lentil surprise.” (This stuff is never-ending!)

IMG_4647.JPG

And, finally, I enjoyed a Chickpea “Blondie” that I baked this morning. The recipe is from the baking genius over at Have Cake, Will Travel. And, my goodness is this recipe delicious! You’d never know that chickpeas were thrown into the mix.

Like usual, I made a few substitutions in the recipe: I used blackberry preserves instead of strawberry and all-purpose flour instead of brown rice flour. I also only made a half batch because I can’t be trusted around amazing goodies like this! Holy yum!

Valentine’s Day Scavenger Hunt

Today is your last day to enter my Valentine’s Day Scavenger Hunt. I’m picking a winner in the morning!

My Claw-Foot Tub Con

Who knew there were so many claw-foot tub lovers out there!

I agree, claw-foot rubs add character and are a beautiful addition to a bathroom, but functionally, I don’t like them. From my experience, they’re hard to get in and out of, the shower curtain constantly sticks to you, and there’s no where to put your shower products. Plus, I’m not a bath person. I’d much rather take a long, hot shower than sit in a bath. Mal’s not a fan of claw-foot tubs either, so when we made our pro-con list last night, it was on the con side. So, that’s my reasoning. To each their own, right? ;-)

Busy afternoon ahead! See ya for dinnah! 8-)

That picture just gave me a moment of relief and a smile from a rather stressful day, so thank you for that!

I need to try these chickpea blondies. It seems like the two shouldn’t go together, but even more reason to give them a whirl myself.

Haha love the picture! It took me a minute to figure out if it was bread made to look like a pug or a pug looking like bread, haha. I’ve made chickpea cupcakes for a gluten-free friend, and while they weren’t horrible, they weren’t great. Maybe I need to try the brownie version instead.

The one and only time I used a claw foot tub, it was pretty annoying. (Mostly for all the reasons you gave.) I do like to take baths so in my dream home the master bath will have a stand up shower AND a jacuzzi tub! :-D

I have a claw foot tub and love it. A few tips. The wire racks that hang from shower or the curtain rods are perfect. I bought two and hooked them together. Depending on how high your curtain rod is you may be able to buy weighted curtains. My curtain rod is too low, so I just cut the bottom of my liners. Then somehow once the shower is on, the liner magically sticks to the sides of the tub, and I never get attacked by the curtain! I dislike baths too, not a fan of soaking in my dirt :)

OM gosh, that pug is too cute. My friend has a claw tub. she hangs her shower curtain outside the tub. She said not much water gets on the floor because of the type of shower head she uses and then all she has to do is quickly wipes it up after her shower. But it is heaven to soak in.

Oh weird! I was thinking about making brownies this morning and I how I could make a blondie with white beans versus a chocolate brownie with black beans (I made chocolate brownies with a mix and a can of pureed black beans before and they were amazing!). Too funny! Maybe the blogosphere is just jonesing for some sweets since it’s so close to Valentine’s Day? Hahaha!

I like the way claw foot tubs look, but since I’m short, I always seem to bang my ankle getting in and out. But there are so many other pros to your apartment that it’s really a no-brainer. Good luck! I’m sad we won’t be able to see you this Saturday at our photography event :( Don’t worry, we’ll all take notes and share them with you!

The shower curtain thing is really annoying I’ve been told to use heavier curtain so they don’t go in. You can also get curtains with magnets or buy magnets to keep the curtain in place.

I guess chickpea blondies is the same as black bean brownies. The recipe looks delish! And I totally agree about the claw foot tubs. I think they look cool but as for functionality I think they definitely fall short!

How sad about the bath tub! Growing up my mom and I LOVED baths (she was basically a single mother to me off and on for about 10 years). It was a wonderful way to relax and we ALWAYS talked about how much we wanted a claw footed bath tub.
Well, she just built a house and that was the first thing they bought! She keeps her things in a basket next to the tub and there is no shower curtain. Its in their private room, so no matter there. They also have a separate open shower.
Even before, my mom was always good about shower curtains – she always some how got the best ones. I never dealt with bad ones.

I see your point about the claw-foot tub. I wasn’t thinking that it was a shower too. My parents have a beautifully-restored claw-foot in their bathroom, but it doesn’t serve as a shower. It sounds like the rest of the place has a lot of PROS though =)

We have a claw-foot, (which I love, even though I maybe take six baths per year,) and solved the product dilemma by getting a “bath caddy” — it lays across the back of the tub, and you can stack a TON of stuff in it! Check at a Bed Bath and Beyond type place — I’m sure they’ll have something that will work for you guys!

We have a claw foot tub and I too hate it. I’ve learned to live with it for now. It was on our con-list when we bought our house, but like you, the pros outweighed the cons and we bought the house. We love it – but older homes always create interesting issues :)

Personally, I love the look of the claw foot tubs, but my husband the plumber has had bad things to say about them so we will never own one.

Of course, my dream is to have a tub that, when it’s full, actually covers your body. We have the tiniest tub in the world!
