Goooooood morning!
My wonderful and amazing husband offered to cook me breakfast this morning while I took Murphy outside to do his “business.” Murphy has been so much better getting down to, um, business, so it seemed like a good deal to me!

Mal cooked me an egg sandwich with cheddar cheese and Buffalo sauce on toasted whole wheat Sandwich Thins. It was delicious… and so satisfying! I love how eggs fill me up like that. It’s a different type of fullness than oatmeal.

I also drank a glass of iced coffee with vanilla soy milk with breakfast.
(Don’t ya just love these funky sea life plates?)

Pros and Cons
Last night while celebrating, Mal and I spent a good part of the evening creating and then discussing a pros and cons list for some of the apartments we’ve seen. Apartment hunting is not easy. For the 10+ places we saw, only 3 were worth considering, so we made a list to see our options in “black and white.”
After putting everything down on paper, one apartment, in particular, easily won out. Check out its pro-con list:
Pros:
- 2-bedroom
- Dishwasher
- Washer + dryer
- Tons of storage
- Driveway parking
- Yard for Murphy
- Closer to work
- Nice neighborhood
- Near public transportation
- Lots of sunlight
- French doors
Cons:
- Older apartment
- Claw-foot tub
- Not close to gym
- Further from city
Not too shabby, right? The apartment has so many pros and the cons were ones that we could totally live with for the next couple of years. We’re not moving again until we buy a house, so we really took our time to weigh the pros and cons of this place. I think we might have a winner!
We spoke with our friend, Marie, last night, and she’s going to draw up a lease for us to sign. If everything works out as planned, we’ll be moving February 17th, which is SO SOON! Eek!
I still can’t believe we’re moving AGAIN!
Question of the Day
Do you use pro and con lists to help you make decisions? What was the last pro-con list that you created?

Yay!I bet you must be relieved:-) I do try to make pros and cons lists just because I’m just not a good decision maker.hehe…CC
you should give us all moving tips since you guys move so often!
Wow holy comments! I swear my dog is so much better at potty time with my boyfriend than with me. When I take her out she wants to sniff the world, but he I guess instills the fear in her (not really!) so she goes right away.
I don’t do pro/con lists often, but I guess the last one I did was whether to run the Disney 1/2 marathon or the America’s Finest City 1/2 marathon. In the end, saving money and convenience won over the chance to run though Cinderella’s castle (this time…)
Great idea making the pro and con list. Good luck with everything!!
I don’t use pro/con lists. You can likely find a new gym close to you though and the trips to the city will be that much more special cuz you’ll be going less often
pros and cons lists? i not only did them when i was deciding on jobs for next year but i often do them for boys… hahahaha…. im not as lucky as you to have found my “person” yet!
I hope you get the place! (Claw foot tubs are a definite pro, though.)
you had me at point 2 and 3. dishwasher, washer, and dryer. All that’s missing is a live in maid…that massages..
Tina, just shout out how much love your blog, and how you motivate me further to strive for healthy balance. I love looking at photos of Beantown as I am graduate of BU, and lived in city for years, and from just North of town. Now in AZ, and nice to catch up on the scenes.
After seeing how cool your place is that you have now, why are you moving again..I know you prob told us all and I just totally forget…closer to work???
PS. I had claw foot tub in Malden, MA, and my other apt after as well, and love a good bath…but do agree the storage and the stupid curtains is a pain in the but for when you want to use the shower
I absolutely love those old claw-foot bath tubs. Have you ever had a bubble bath in one of them? That would definitely be on my “pro” list. Good luck with the move.
I always make a pro/con list – it’s amazing how making one can put everything into perspective! I usually make one when I’m starting a new job or relationship, or moving!
You mentioned it was an old apartment, you should also consider what type of heating the place has. and ac? or window units? I lived in a horrible (really awesome and cool old building) apartment with baseboard heating, I had to wear so many layers and still was freezing all winter long.
