Our “New” Table

February 27, 2010

Check out newest piece of furniture!

Our “new” table was once owned by Mal’s parents many, many, many years ago. It’s been in storage for ages, but now it’s ours to keep– at least for a little awhile. ;-)

IMG_6370.JPG

I love the “rustic” look of this table. It has random paint spots and coffee ring stains all over, which gives it tons of character.

It also fits perfectly in our dining room!

Dinner

For dinner tonight, I tried to another gardein product: Tuscan Breasts. They’re so quick and easy to make, why not, right? I have places to be tonight! ;-)

IMG_6352.JPG

I also liked this product, but I liked the Bbq Pulled Shreds a lot more– they just seemed so much like the real thing. I could tell that the Tuscan Breasts were a meat-free product, ya know?

IMG_6355.JPG

I chopped up one of the Tuscan Breasts and added it to a big salad for dinner tonight.

Delicious meal.

For “dessert,” I ate a couple of Sandwich Thins with peanut butter and raisins on top. I also ate a vanilla Chobani yogurt with Uncle Sam cereal and sliced banana as an afternoon snack, but I guess my camera ate that photo? :-?

I’m off to meet friends for some celebratory birthday drinks. See ya!

The new table is a perfect background for your salad pictures. It actually reminds me of my family’s dining room table, an old western-style picnic table my great-grandpa made – definitely has character. Have fun with your friends!

I love your “new” table! I think the old antique finds and the pieces with stories behind them are the best. Plus, you can add some fancy tablecloths/plates/etc. and it won’t look stuffy

Love the “new” table. Most of the furniture in our house is antique or vintage and nothing matches anything and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

What an amazing table. It has so much character. This is the sort of table that my boyfriend really wants when we buy a house, a large rustic table with loads of character. Helen x

Salad looks yum…as usual….I also love used/antique-ish furniture! That table also looks like real wood! Not some faux wood bought at ikea!

Christina@Health-Foodie February 28, 2010 at 8:25 am

Wow, that really LOOKS like chicken. I did not know they have made that much progress with fake meat. Researchers are already growing real meat in a petri dishes. They are just looking for more funding to go commercial… that would take some time getting used to. :)

Love the table! Really need to get a wooden one too. Glass is driving me crazy with the fingerprints. haha
