Happy Monday!
I had all of these great plans for this morning, such as going to the gym and visiting a new cafe for breakfast, but instead, I slept in and bummed around the apartment. Oh, well. I might as well save my energy for the Big Apple!
Breakfast
The selection of fruits and vegetables in my refrigerator was pretty much non-exist, except for a pathetic-looking bag of spinach. I didn’t have many options for breakfast, so I whipped up another Sweet Spinach Pancake with Barney Butter smeared on top.

Mmm… Barney Butter.

I made a strong batch of iced coffee the other day. Yowsahs!

I live in NYC and my favorite part is the people watching
I live right outside of the city and I love the easy access to everything, awesome shopping, theater, restaurants and the best health food stores! If you need any suggestions I know a ton of cool places to check out so definitely e-mail me!

PB and Co!, candle cafe, boqueria tapas, stogo vegan ice cream, angelica’s kitchen.. chelsea market is fun to walk around (lots of bakeries, cafes, markets)… great pizza at grimaldi’s by the water in brooklyn! or lombardis in soho… too many great choices!
I lived in NYC for 6 months about 2 years ago and while it was hard at first since I didn’t really know anyone, I soon learned to love it. I love the energy of the people as you can seriously do anything or be anyone there and find your niche.
And of course, the food, shopping, nightlife and transportation (DC metro why can’t you work like NYC) are perks. You really can’t go wrong! Have a blast!
Have fun Tina! I LOVE NYC! Not only does my best friend live there, but I love love love the FOOD! So many places, so little time. It’s a favorite city to visit – there is always so much happening!
I love NYC! I was there in high school (10 years ago!) and I fell in love. Not to sound corny, but it was almost magical, I’ve never felt that way about visiting somewhere before! Sadly, I have yet to go back and need to remedy that soon!
Also, thanks for the great coupon for those bowls. I just ordered…I can’t wait to use them!
I love New York – so much good food, amazing theatre, never a shortage of things to see or do. You can never be bored in NYC and that’s why I love it!
Have a great trip! I’m dying to visit NYC!
I love the half price theater ticket line. You can see a Broadway show for half off!
Love NYC! If you love french fries you MUST go to Pommes Frites in the East Village… they’re double-fried and offer over 25 delicious dipping sauces. So good!
Barney Butter makes anything better!
I LOVE NYC! I have family who live in Upstate NY and have gone through the airports in NYC so i’ve been there about 3 or 4 times now? It’s amazing.
I lived in NYC for a while, and I love everything about it. There is always something fun to do (and something fun to eat)!
I’ve only been to NYC once but it was so fun
Enjoy your trip!
I lived in NYC for a year while working on an assignment. What did I love the most? Probably the arts scene. Amazing!
I live in NYC now, have for about 6 years and I agree with some other posters who say that the people watching is great! It’s amazing what you see here! The food is, of course, amazing too, and I highly recommend a stop at PB&Co and Momofuku Milk Bar & Bakery if you can get there. Clinton St Baking Co and Veselka are two of my other favorites. The parks are amazing (especially when it’s not so cold) and you can’t go wrong with all the museums. Oh, Jacques Torres has the best chocolate chip cookies in the city!
I went last year and loved absolutely everything I saw–I want to go back!!
Have a great time in NYC! I love that city
My husband and I went for our anniversary last year and had a fabulous dinner at TreDici Steak in Chelsea.
Strong iced coffee is the best!
I’ve never been to NYC, but Meghan’s pictures really make me want to go!
Have so much fun in the city! I just moved from there, and I miss it so much! I love everything about it =) What a wonderful opportunity you have, can’t wait to hear about it!
I’ve lived IN NYC and I’ve also lived right outside. It can be a little overwhelming (especially compared to Boston!) but it’s definitely an exciting place to visit. EVERYTHING is just a walk or a subway ride away!
Have so much fun!!!
The pancake looks delish! I love NYC, my grandma lives there and I always have a blast when I go to see her!
I hope you enjoy NYC! It’s such a magical place. I have been there twice and I am counting the days until I get to go back.
I live and work in NYC-so I would suggest you hit up some of the bakeries here- Baby Cakes, Magnolia, Sprinkles etc…
I grew up as a theater kid from NJ, so my favorite thing is dressing up and seeing a Broadway show
I also love the wide variety of amazing food spots in the city. Do a lot of google-mapping before you go!
I wish sooo badly I could visit NYC, it’s my dream/on my Bucket List! My sister’s been and she had an amazing, albeit freezing, time – her favourite bit was ice skating somewhere really famous, but I can’t think where now
Have a good time!
I have never been to NYC but have wanted to go for a long while! I hope you enjoy it!
Yay, I’m so excited for you!! You’re going to have a great time.
I actually used to live in NYC =) i was 19, and I made a spontaneous decision to live there for about 6 months. It was *awesome*, but expensive (hence the 6 months, haha). I’d love to move back there one day! Until then, I’ll just keep visiting since I only live about an hour away.
I have been to NYC a few times. My favorite memory is visiting Morimoto’s restaurant. The food is INCREDIBLE and the second time we went we even got to meet him! If you get to choose a dinner while you’re there I highly recommend his place!
I love cookies as much as you do and I just had one of the BEST cookies ever. It was called the compost cookie (potato chips, pretzels, coffee, oats, butterscotch, and chocolate chips) and I got it from Momofuku milk bar in the East Village. I live in NYC, so I’d be more than happy to meet you there this week
I love NYC! The crowds, the great energy, all the great food. I am a city girl.
I have never been but hope to go in August! Have a great trip Tina!
Woo, have a great time in NYC!! I kind of miss it now that i live in D.C.! Hope you brought warm clothes- they’re supposed to get a foot of snow tmrw… :-/
have fun in new york! cant wait to hear all about it!
I live in NYC and love so many things about it: the energy, the convenience of EVERYTHING, the diversity (of ideas, people, food), the culture… welcome to the big Apple! Bundle up, it’s cold here today.
NYC…such a cool place! My favorite thing to do there is be in Central Park. Of course this time of year that is somewhat challenging so then I always try to find a local coffee shop or cafe that I can warm up in and soak up the local life of Manhattan.
Enjoy the trip!
I live on the New Haven line into the city and we used to spend tons of time in the city on the weekends. I also used to run NYRR races in Central Park once or twice a month, though I stick to local races these days. These days, my BF and I drive in a few times over the summer to grab dinner in Little Italy, but I don’t usually have the energy to head in for a night out anymore!
Have fun in NYC!
Have a great trip to NYC! Have I ever visited – well yes, in fact I live there!
It’s a little chilly, but at least we didn’t get the snow that was predicted this weekend.
