Off to the Big Apple for Cake

Happy Monday! 8-)

I had all of these great plans for this morning, such as going to the gym and visiting a new cafe for breakfast, but instead, I slept in and bummed around the apartment. Oh, well. I might as well save my energy for the Big Apple! ;-)

Breakfast

The selection of fruits and vegetables in my refrigerator was pretty much non-exist, except for a pathetic-looking bag of spinach. I didn’t have many options for breakfast, so I whipped up another Sweet Spinach Pancake with Barney Butter smeared on top.

Mmm… Barney Butter.

I made a strong batch of iced coffee the other day. Yowsahs! 8-O

I lived in NYC for 6 months about 2 years ago and while it was hard at first since I didn’t really know anyone, I soon learned to love it. I love the energy of the people as you can seriously do anything or be anyone there and find your niche.
And of course, the food, shopping, nightlife and transportation (DC metro why can’t you work like NYC) are perks. You really can’t go wrong! Have a blast!

I love NYC! I was there in high school (10 years ago!) and I fell in love. Not to sound corny, but it was almost magical, I’ve never felt that way about visiting somewhere before! Sadly, I have yet to go back and need to remedy that soon!

Also, thanks for the great coupon for those bowls. I just ordered…I can’t wait to use them!

I live in NYC now, have for about 6 years and I agree with some other posters who say that the people watching is great! It’s amazing what you see here! The food is, of course, amazing too, and I highly recommend a stop at PB&Co and Momofuku Milk Bar & Bakery if you can get there. Clinton St Baking Co and Veselka are two of my other favorites. The parks are amazing (especially when it’s not so cold) and you can’t go wrong with all the museums. Oh, Jacques Torres has the best chocolate chip cookies in the city!

I live on the New Haven line into the city and we used to spend tons of time in the city on the weekends. I also used to run NYRR races in Central Park once or twice a month, though I stick to local races these days. These days, my BF and I drive in a few times over the summer to grab dinner in Little Italy, but I don’t usually have the energy to head in for a night out anymore!
