Off to the Big Apple for Cake

February 8, 2010

Happy Monday! 8-)

I had all of these great plans for this morning, such as going to the gym and visiting a new cafe for breakfast, but instead, I slept in and bummed around the apartment. Oh, well. I might as well save my energy for the Big Apple! ;-)

Breakfast

The selection of fruits and vegetables in my refrigerator was pretty much non-exist, except for a pathetic-looking bag of spinach. I didn’t have many options for breakfast, so I whipped up another Sweet Spinach Pancake with Barney Butter smeared on top.

Mmm… Barney Butter.

I made a strong batch of iced coffee the other day. Yowsahs! 8-O

I live in upstate NY about 1.5 hours from NYC, so we get there when we can. My favorite part of the city is all of the wonderful restaurants. There are just so many, I especially love Little Italy. :)

Have a great time! I wasn’t a huge New York City fan when I went. Staten Island was my favorite.

Oh, poor you, pancakes and Barney Butter for breakfast :P

I was in New York in December (for the third time… not bad for a 22-year-old Australian :P ) and mostly just moved between gourmet grocery stores hunting out chocolate – if you have time for chocolate and cheese, definitely try to make it to Zabar’s and any of the Garden of Eden shops!

I’ve ben to NYC a couple years ago. The husband and I had friends that lived their so we stayed with them in Brooklyn. My favorite part of New York was going to the comedy shows, I think we went to one almost every night and I even got to see the guy from cash cab do stand up. And of course pizza in little italy was the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life!

I love NYC, it is my favorite city, and I am from S.F. People are so friendly, excellent transportation system, wonderful restaurants, central park… There is not one bad thing I can say about it. I just wish is wasn’t such a long flight away. Have a wonderful and safe Trip.

Haha, the last time I was there, my sisters wanted to go to Central park and my friend and I didn’t. We walked around Chinatown instead and got piercings. I got my belly button pierced and he got his nipple pierced. I WAS ONLY 15! Haha.

Have fun in NYC Tina!

Am new to your blog. Lots of info to browse through – like your workout info and recipes you have in your pages. Thanks. NYC is an awesome place to visit but don’t want to live there. Visited in May 2008. I will definitely go again. Have a great time!

I live in nyc and my favorite thing is the options/variety. if you want mexican food at three in the morning, you can find some. if you want to spend your weekend looking at fancy art one minute and then going to a crazy club the next, you can do that. there are also so many kinds of people!

My husband, Jason, surprised me with a Valentine’s trip to NYC about 3 years ago and we had a fantastic time. I loved every moment we were there, but the definite highlight was scoring tickets to be in the audience of the Letterman Show!!!
