If You Have Nothing Nice to Say…

February 4, 2010

… say nothing at all. :-? Sorry about all of the blog drama, guys.

Needless to say, I am totally and utterly frustrated by GoDaddy. My blog has been down for more than half of a day, and I have nothing nice to say about it. If you like your blog host, please let me know. I’m obviously in the market for a new one.

Anyway, onto the more positive things in my life! ;-)

Snack

Before my workout, I fueled-up with some “baked” instant oatmeal with a scoop of Teddie peanut butter. In the mix was maple brown sugar instant oatmeal, pineapple-flavored Chobani, and liquid egg whites. Delicious and filing.

After my snack, I headed downtown to Healthworks. But, before hitting the gym, I popped into Copley Flair to find a Valentine’s Day gift for my hubby.

IMG_4658.JPG

Copley Fair is a cute, little gift shop with lots of unique and interesting items– and a great selection of Vera Bradely stuff!

IMG_4659 IMG_4660.JPG

Mal and I challenged each other to find Valentine’s Day gifts for $10 or less. And, I found him quite the gift for $9.95. It’s something that he didn’t know he needed!

Workout

I brought a bottle of raspberry-pomegranate Skinny Water to the gym to drink while working out. This flavor was really sweet, so I kept adding water to dilute it. The flavor was almost too intense for my liking.

IMG_4663.JPG

As soon as I arrived at the gym, I made sure to grab a ticket for Body Pump. The class is always so packed!

IMG_4666.JPG

Tonight, Body Pump 71 was revived! At first, I was a little bummed because I started to get into a grove with Body Pump 72. But, once I realized that 71 kept my body guessing, I was up for the challenge. I was exhausted by the end of the Dead Lift/Clean to Press track and the Triceps track was pure torture. The triceps push-ups were killer! My arms felt like jello when I was washing my hair in the shower, which, of course, is a sign of a good workout! ;-)

Dinner

I ate the biggest salad for dinner tonight. I had a serious craving for veggies, so this meal totally hit the spot.

IMG_4669.jpg

In the mix:

IMG_4670.JPG

What do you think of my “new” bowl? ;-)

IMG_4673.jpg

For dessert, I enjoyed a Chickpea “Blondie,” which was oh, so delicious!

IMG_4674.jpg

I’m not sure when this post will get published, but hopefully, it’s sooner than later.

I’m really happy with Blue Host. My brother is a software development engineer at Microsoft and did a lot of research and a trial before deciding to host our blogs there. Good luck!

That’s awesome that you and Mal are setting a limit for Valentine’s Day gifts.

Love the “new” bowl, and sorry about stupid GoDaddy!

I wish I had hosting advice for you. Unfortunately my blog is with GoDaddy too!

My traffic is no where what yours is… so I haven’t had any problems…

have a great day!

I’m sorry you’re having all of this godaddy trouble! I hate when things are broken that are out of my control!

Tina February 5, 2010 at 12:15 pm

The salad looks delicious! The Whole Foods near me has a soy sesame ginger dressing that would have paired perfectly with that dinner!

BTW, I used to have a claw foot tub (tired of hearing about this yet?!) and used a heavy duty shower curtain liners with magnets. The magnets may not stick to your tub, but the weight of the magnets and the weight of a heavy-duty curtain help weigh down the curtain so it doesn’t blow in on you when showering.

Hi! First of all I really have to say that I love your blog! I’ve been following it only for a few days and I’m already addicted to it ;)
Today I had oatmeal for the first time EVER (!!!) and it was so good and amazingly filling…. I never would have thought!
Your pre-workout snack sounds delicious… I must try it sometime soon!
Thanks again for your awesome blog! Hope one day I’ll have one at least half as nice as yours ;D
Hugs from Italy,
xxx Elisa

Every time I see those chickpea blondies, I want one. That’s a sign! ;)

I use GoDaddy and so far, so good, but I don’t get nearly as much traffic as you do.

The triceps set killed me at body pump last night too. My body doesn’t know what’s hit it today!

I’ve always used Blue Host (have done for around 6 years) and have never experienced any problems – their customer service is pretty good too.

haha I was obsessively checking before bed! You are my “bedtime read”!! Hope everything works out! This is essentially your business and having your site down for half a day is NOT acceptable.

Yay you’re back! That store looks so cute, how have I never been there!
I’m thinking my gym should start tickets to Pump, it was really crowded last night. I always make sure to wait by the door early to claim “my spot” haha. My quads always feel like they’re going to give out when I go back downstairs after class!

Glad to see you back online! The Copley Flair store looks like fun! In the picture showing books and games, I see our new favorite game Bananagrams hanging on a little display tree. This game is like Scrabble but with fast paced and so fun! Enjoy your day.

Hm, kind of good to know since I was thinking about using GoDaddy as a host. Unfortunately I don’t have any good recommendations for you…

I’ve been seeing those chickpeas blondies everywhere lately. I’m going to have to make a batch soon!

Ooo can’t wait to see what you found Mal for $9.95!

And that’s such a great idea to have tickets at your gym. Ours is a “first come first serve” basis, and for some classes you have to get there 45 minutes early to get in!

Love the dinner bowl!

I agree with Jenny – the class ticket idea is great!

I used Dreamhost. I used a code (email me if you want it) and got my first year for under $25. I’ve been with them for a year tomorrow and my site has been down for a grand total of about 3 hours and that’s only because they were moving servers. They’re very quick to respond to help questions and are so nice to work with. I love them and would recommend them to anyone.

Angie (Losing It and Loving It) February 5, 2010 at 2:35 pm

That salad looks yummy!

As for hosting, we have been using Hostgator for years and we have many sites on the account. I can’t say that I remember any downtime at all. I’m not sure where you bought your domain but it’s said that you should never host at the same place you purchase your domain so if you have both at Go Daddy, I would also change. Sorry about the frustrations, tech stuff is no fun.

I have to try making those chickpea blondies sometime – I’ve already given kidney bean and black bean brownies a go, so this seems like the obvious step! LOL!

Your dinner looks yummy! I think I might have to make that tonight, but toss in some shrimpies for the husband to enjoy.

Sorry about the blog woes. :-(

I use bluehost and I’m not very pleased with them, though they’ve never dropped my blog. The first thing was (and I guess this is mostly my fault,I should have read closer, but…) they drew me in with the phrase “$6.99 for twelve months” and charged me $6.99 for each of those twelve months. The second thing is that I have to limit my photo size which gets frustrating when I have to change camera batteries and reset everything.

My husband is a programmer and HATES Go Daddy. He said for blogs that Word Press is much better, but that google also has a hosting site for blogs (don’t remember the name though).
