Tonight was all about good friends, good times, and good food!
I’ve definitely said this before, but I love, love, love The Publick House! It might just be my favorite restaurant. And, it’s even more amazing when you can enjoy it with a group of friends.

Mal + Tina.

Beth + Corey.

Dave + Marie.

My first beer of the evening was a Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine.
Ever since the Black Beer Affair at Gordon’s Wine and Liquors, I’ve been sort of obsessed with barley beers. The ones that I tried at Gordon’s were smooth and sweet, but the Bigfoot Barleywine was pretty bitter. I didn’t love the beer, but I drank it anyway. The Publick House has a strict “I didn’t really like that beer” policy, which, of course, I always obey.

For dinner, I shared The Publick House’s Famous Mac and Cheese with my husband. The Mac and Cheese was made with orrechetti pasta in a five cheese sauce with pieces of bacon mixed in. Omg, it was delicious and, oh, so cheesy!

I also dominated the paper bag French fries. My favorite!

My second beer of the evening was a Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout, which was nice and smooth with hints of chocolate and coffee flavors. Mmm! I enjoyed this beer a lot!

Right now, the guys are up watching the Olympics, but Beth and I are already in our PJs and ready for bed. We’re such old ladies, but we have another fun-filled day ahead of us tomorrow and we need our beauty sleep!
Goooood night!

The Sierra Nevada brewery is just down the street from my house. I haven’t heard Bigfoot Barleywine.
That cheesy bread is callin’ my name! Somehow I think it tasted better than Dominoes
Have a great day tomorrow!
I don’t even know how to describe my jealousy over that Mac’N'Cheese…. I bet your tummy is quite content
oh wow, I know you go for those paper bag french fries but I think I would pass those up for a bite of the mac and cheese! yum yum yum
Cappucino flavoured beer? That sounds amazing! As does paper bag French fries.
The mac n cheese with bacon sounds so rich and delicious, I would definitely be sleepy too after great food and beers!
love that you guys are watching the Olympics in your PJs, us too! We just got back from seeing the sites in downtown Vancouver and will post some pics tomorrow if you are interested
Happy Valentine’s Day!
The mac n cheese looks amazing! I love that the fries come in a bag!
Mac and cheese with bacon is the best.
Why are fries always so much better when eaten out of a paper bag or cone? haha
I love trying new beer. I wouldn’t pass up that mac and cheese either haha!
Love the fries in a paperbag idea, that’s so cool, I’ve never seen that before!
Beer and mac n cheese…two of my LEAST favourite things lol!

Chocolate + Coffee + Beer? Yes, Please.
You always find the best combinations!
That Mac & Cheese looks so decadent – and just the ticket for Valentine’s Day! And aren’t you a good girl for finishing up your beer
yum! and yes, beauty sleep is a necessity. i advocate 8 hrs a day any day lol
That looks awesome — and I agree, good friends and good food are always worth celebrating.
I love the Publick House!! Seeing that mac and cheese makes me want to go right now even though it’s 8 in the morning.
Hmmm cappuccino stout. That sounds really interesting. I’m not a big beer drinker, but flavoured stuff could be something I could see myself getting into.
I need that mac and cheese in my life.
Sounds like a great night out.
That mac and cheese looks amazing. Yum.
I NEED to try to Publick House. Last time I tried to go, the wait was over an hour…on a Thursday. Your mac and cheese looks amazing. Have a great Monday!
That stout you had sounds really interesting- I love coffee and I love beer, so it sounds like a good combo to me!
that mac and cheese looks SO good! looks like yall had a good time!
@Allie (Live Laugh Eat): Cheesy bread???
I need to go back to bed so I can dream about that picture of mac & cheese.
Something about coffee-flavored alcohol always grosses me out lol, I can’t figure out what it is! That food looks diviiine.
I would have gotten the mac and cheese too…..yum!
looks like a fun restaurant. any place that serves fries in a paper bag gets an A+ in my book.
Tina, I get so excited to see those damn french fries in a paper bag every time you go to the Publick House!! Yummm
Tina, I love to see those damn french fries in a paper bag every time you go to the Publick House!! Yummmy
Do you have a Five Guys and Fries near you? The fries you had sound a lot like the ones at FG&F.
I’m a big fan of dark beers, but I tend to stick to pretty malty ones… it kind of counteracts the bitter barley taste!
that cappucino beer sounds AH-mazing! I’ll have to try and find somewhere around here that carries it…I love dark coffee flavored beers
hope you guys have another great day today!
I’m not even a beer fan, but “hints of chocolate and coffee”? Yeah, I’d be OK with that.
love couples nights! but you should have watched the olympics last night – it was couples skating!!!
Wow – those fries look amazing! I would eat just a bag of those and call it a night. LOL!
K
Mmm…cheesy mac and fries? What’s not to love. I enjoy how Mal is always up for anything when it comes to you and your friends!

I was at Publick House last night too!! I live within walking distance which is dangerous
And I’ve tried both the Barleywine and Cappuccino Stout before – both are delicious!
I was at the Black Beer event at Gordons and I’m now obsessed with the Goose Island Bourbon County Stout. I love that stuff!
