Top 10 Favorite Foods

January 18, 2010

If you had to pick your top 10 favorite foods, what would be on your list?

Mal and I have been wracking our brains all night trying to narrow-down our lists, but we just have too many favorite foods! I’m so glad that I married a man who likes to eat as much as I do! ;-)

Our top 10 conversation started after I introduced my husband to my favorite type of apple: JAZZ! I ate one as a snack this afternoon. Mal did too and he totally loved it! He’s a jazz apple convert now! :-D

Here’s what we finally came up with for our top 10 lists:

Tina’s Top 10 Favorite Foods

  1. Cake
  2. Cookies
  3. Nachos
  4. Peanut butter
  5. Oatmeal
  6. Bananas
  7. Apples
  8. Coffee
  9. Chocolate
  10. Pizza

Mal’s Top 10 Favorite Foods

  1. Pizza
  2. Ice cream
  3. Chicken
  4. Turkey
  5. Chips
  6. Coffee
  7. Pug meat
  8. Pistachios
  9. Pasta
  10. Cucumbers

Dinner

Tonight, Mal and I made Real Simple’s Turkey and Bean Chili for dinner– and it was AWESOME! :-D I always rave about Real Simple’s recipes, but this one was especially delicious and it made a TON of leftovers. We’re going to be eating them for DAYS. I’m not complaining! ;-)

I also love that homemade chili is a fairly cheap dinner. The whole meal cost us around $6! Love that!

IMG_3401.JPG

The star ingredient of the meal was Wild n Mild Grilling & Marinade Sauce that the folks at OpenSky sent me to test out.

IMG_3407.JPG

We used the “Wild Blend” in tonight’s chili and it packed a serious punch! 8-O As the Wild n Mild slogan says: “Flavor that Bites Back!” Oh, yes, it did!

The flavor of the “Wild Blend” was unique, but it a good way! It’s semi-sweet and bbq-esque with a serious zing to it. (I assume that the “Mild Blend” doesn’t have as much heat to it.)

IMG_3397.JPG IMG_3405.JPG

I added about 1/3 of a cup of the “Wild Blend” to the chili, and it added strong, spicy kick to the pot! Perfect!

IMG_3409.JPG

I loved this chili recipe. It was soooooo flavorful with tons of big chunks of tomato, green bell pepper, and ground turkey. A bowl of spicy, hearty chili is truly the best!

IMG_3413.JPG

IMG_3416.JPG

I’m psyched that we have so many leftovers! ;-)

IMG_3422.JPG

For dessert, I ate 3 handfuls of peanut butter and chocolate chips. I’m addicted to these things!

IMG_3423.JPG

I *think* we may have found renters for our apartment! Yay! Now, Mal, Murphy, and I need to find somewhere to live! 8-O

Off to scour Craigslist!

LOVE the top ten list…I am still working on mine but that is such a great idea. I heard somewhere that people often get in a rut where they eat the same things day to day so I should make a list of fav foods and then a list of new foods to try to get me going on new exciting foods!

Congrats on finding renters **fingers crossed**

Pug meat? I’m assuming he means chewing on Murph! hehe.

I don’t think I can name just 10. I’ll have to “chew” on that myself.

Good luck with scouring Craigslist. I know how frustrating it can be!

Cake, cookies and nachos are your 1/2/3? Finally I realize why we get along so well! I actually have a funny nacho story involving an appearance on Food Network, but we’ll save that for another time.

I don’t think I can rank mine, but my top 10 in random order would be: pickles, beef, roast chicken, cheese, peanut butter, chocolate chip cookies, green beans, guacamole, eggs and milk.
