New Year’s Eve 2010

January 1, 2010

Happy 2010!  How was your New Year’s Eve?

I had an awesome time ringing in the new year, but I think I had a little too much fun. I’m feeling a tad a lot hungover this morning. Ick.

Last night, Mal and I had a few friends over before our friend’s house party. We stayed at our place for a couple of hours before walking over to the party all together.

While hanging out, I drank a couple of Winter Warmers.

IMG_1798.JPG

And had some spinach-artichoke dip + crackers.

IMG_1800.JPG IMG_1803.JPG

Isn’t this pink bowl sort of funky? It’s a double bowl.

IMG_1806.JPG

I also ate a bunch of Malley’s chocolates.

IMG_1808.JPG

The combination of Winter Warmer + milk chocolate was so delicious!

IMG_1849.JPG

I couldn’t stop myself! (Another 2-3 chocolates went undocumented.)

IMG_1850.JPG

Murphy also enjoyed some treats on New Year’s Eve: peanut butter Kong! His favorite!

I freeze the peanut butter in the Kong, so Murphy can lick and lick and lick and enjoy his treat much longer. It also gives Mom some time to herself! ;-)

IMG_1825.JPG

Sit…

IMG_1828.JPG

Stay…

IMG_1831.JPG

Food totally motivates this dog. He stayed for a good 60 seconds before I have him the okay.

IMG_1830.JPG

Mmmmm… peanut butter! :-D

IMG_1834.JPG

Murphy also enjoyed lots of belly rubs on NYE.

IMG_1835.JPG

Oh, yes! Feels sooooo good!

IMG_1837.JPG

IMG_1840.JPG

More, please!

IMG_1842.JPG

Anyone?

IMG_1843.JPG

During the pre-party, I noticed a big scuff on my black boots. How annoying!

IMG_1797.JPG

But, my trusty black Sharpie came to the rescue.

IMG_1820.JPG

Good as new!

IMG_1817.JPG

Then it was time to head to the party. Luckily, it was a quick 10-minute walk away.

IMG_1857.JPG

Looks like Southie was prepared for its New Year’s celebrations!

IMG_1854.JPG

I didn’t really eat dinner, so I was happy to see lots of delicious food at the party.

IMG_1858.JPG

IMG_1859.JPG

IMG_1870.JPG

IMG_1871.JPG

I dug right in! I ended up eating a thousand Stacy’s Pita Chips.

IMG_1896.JPG

I had some veggies and dip and quite a bit of cheese, too.

IMG_1897.JPG

I also drank my fair share of booze– and I’m paying for it today!

IMG_1861.JPG

IMG_1865.JPG IMG_1868.JPG

IMG_1869.JPG

Ladies: my friend, Jon, is single! ;-)

IMG_1893.JPG

Look who was at the party: Tiger and Elin! There’s quite a resemblance!

Our friends, Jason and Nina, were going to a 2000′s decades party later in the night, so they dressed up as Tiger and Elin.

IMG_1860.JPG

We also played some cards at the party.

IMG_1872.JPG

IMG_1889.JPG

And, of course, there were plenty of shenanigans.

IMG_1902.JPG

IMG_1909.JPG

IMG_1910.JPG

Before I knew it, it was time to pop the bubbly and ring in 2010.

IMG_1912.JPG

IMG_1917.JPG

IMG_1921.JPG

IMG_1926.JPG

IMG_1931.JPG

The countdown…

IMG_1932.JPG

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

IMG_1934.JPG

IMG_1935.JPG

IMG_1937.JPG

Cheers to 2010!

IMG_1940.JPG

IMG_1941.JPG

IMG_1942.JPG

More champagne!

IMG_1944.JPG

IMG_1945.JPG

And then there was Flip Cup.

At this point in the evening, I did not need anything more to drink, so Flip Cup definitely put me over the top.

IMG_1966.JPG

But, I had a blast playing! I can be so competitive sometimes!

IMG_2006.JPG

My team had their game faces on.

IMG_1955.JPG

The competition was fierce!

IMG_1990.JPG

Our team was victorious! Hooray!

IMG_2021.JPG

Happy New Year, blog friends!

Happy 2010, Tina! Looks like you, Mal and Murphy (my pup does the roll over “give me belly scratches” thing too!) had an awesome time last night :)

We kept things pretty low-key last night, but I’m feeling the two glasses of wine and glass of champagne today…guess I can’t party like I used to!

Great night! Your post was cracking me up because it was so me. I have the SAME kong, filled with peanut butter, in the freezer… My husband and I keep it there for when we need some “alone time” and our dog needs something to occupy him :)

Also… Stacy’s Pita Chips… not allowed in my house, they are EXTREMELY dangerous.

Anyway, Happy New Year!!! I can’t wait to keep reading your blog in 2010

You know it’s a party when flip cup gets busted out and you’re not in college anymore. I played it for the first time in a long time this past fall and it was as heated and competitive as it looks. Love the documentary of Murph. I always freeze wet food in the kong and it lasts forever! Love it when they are occupied. Happy New Year/

Oh how I love Flip Cup! I’ve always called it tippy cup- and now that’s what I call my kids sippy cups. My hubby says, “Courtney, Tippy Cup is a drinking game. Sippy cups are for kids.”. I’ve had a lot of fun times with that game. Your night looks awesome!

Frozen kong = genius. Might have to see if I can persuade my mom to get her grandpuppies some. I stick with the cheap-o dog toys in my house and just buying one would definitely not be tolerated. And I definitely want more champagne now!
