New Appreciation for Soup

January 6, 2010

Tonight was a soup kind of night.

Mal and I took Murphy for a 45-minute walk around the neighborhood, and by the time we got home, I was chilled to the bone! :-( My hands, feet, and face were totally frozen! I didn’t shower after my trip to the gym (ick), so I immediately took the hottest shower ever– and it felt amazing!!! Then, I got into my PJs, made soup, and sat on the couch while eating it. It was the perfect way to end such a cold adventure! I definitely have a new appreciation for soup. :-D

My soup of choice for the evening: Wolfgang Puck’s Organic Thick Hearty Vegetable.

I’m sure if it was because I was starving, but I absolutely loved this flavor of soup and there were tons of chunky vegetables in the mix. It totally hit the spot and filled me up.

On the side, I had a few piece of French bread for dipping.

And, for dessert, I enjoyed two Sandwich Thins with Teddie peanut butter and chocolate chips. I can’t get enough of this treat!

9 Secrets of Motivated People

I loved reading this piece from Real Simple: 9 Secrets of Motivated People. Just wanted to share!

I’m writing one more embarrassing story for my editor and then taking the rest of the night off. Rumor has it that there is a new Modern Family on tonight? I really hope so because it’s the most HILARIOUS show ever!

G’night!

I’ve found the fairly “new” healthier Campbell’s Chunky soups that have lean meats and veggie servings come in at a healthy “Weight Watcher” point value and are pretty tasty. I’m always sketchy with trying canned soups, seem to be so hit and miss. I’ll have to check the Wolfgang Puck versions out!!!

Another brand I love, and it comes in a box, is the Wegmans (it’s a chain of grocery stores in NY, PA that I know of) roasted red pepper! OMG… add a few tablespoons of either “Crumbles” or lean browned ground beef with a 1/2 cup or so of leftover rice & it tastes like stuffed pepper soup!
