I’ll Start My Diet Tomorrow
Well, I don’t really do “diets,” but ya know what I mean, right?
With the start of a new year, you’d think I’d want to start it off right with some healthy eats. Well, my hangover had a different idea.
Lunch
Mal, our friend, Josh, and I ordered a greasy cheese pizza to share for lunch. We’re all feeling a bit blah after last night’s partying.

I ended up eating two slices of cheesy, greasy goodness. They actually made me feel a little bit better.

I washed down the pizza with a piece of fudge.
Pizza and fudge: definitely not that healthiest start to 2010!

Breakfast
Breakfast, however, was a healthy meal of peanut butter and banana slices on top of a Sandwich Thin. But, it didn’t settle my stomach like I hoped it would. I needed something heavier (and apparently greasier), like pizza, in my stomach.

I also drank some iced coffee with breakfast.

I’m off to the gym. Hopefully, some exercise will make me feel better.
Boo hangovers!

I am right there with ya sister..lol. Breakfast was cheesy and fat filled. Hangover’s seem to do that to you. Hopefully the great exercise endorphins will help out.

Love cheesy pizza after a night of drinking- there is nothing like it!
Allie (Live Laugh Eat) — January 1, 2010 @ 4:46 pm
I’m with you on this one. I’ve had lotsa chocolate already this morning. Carb/sweet cravings to ring in the new year. Tomorrow will be my Jan 1st
Cait (Cait's Plate) — January 1, 2010 @ 4:46 pm
Haha – I agree. It’s too difficult to eat healthfully during the holidays. As soon as you go back to your regular eating routine any water weight you might have put on will just fall right off
Happy 2010!

Greasy food is an absolute necessity for hangovers. Good luck at the gym!
Paige (Running Around Normal) — January 1, 2010 @ 4:54 pm
Too much pressure for Jan 1st to be good! Greasy pizza is such a hangover cure:)
Danielle (Coffee Run) — January 1, 2010 @ 4:59 pm
Contrary to what you’d think…exercise is a pretty good hangover cure. Feel better
Kristen @ Change of Pace — January 1, 2010 @ 5:04 pm
You are too funny. I’m feeling the same way today. Definitely thought I could start my day off healthy but it didn’t end up that way. At least you’ll start your “diet” tomorrow instead of pushing it off until Monday like me… I’m giving myself the benefit of the doubt but hoping to get back on track tomorrow

I had toast and crackers, a perfect first meal of the year, very balanced! Happy New Year!
Joy — January 1, 2010 @ 5:10 pm
Nothing like a little grease and exercise to right the ship! Way to go to the gym! It sounds like a great way to start the New Year.
Kara — January 1, 2010 @ 5:13 pm
Eh, why eat any differently today than you would any other day? A hangover is a hangover, even when it is the new year
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) — January 1, 2010 @ 5:21 pm
Sounds like a good time was had by all! Happy New Year!
Stephanie-Jo — January 1, 2010 @ 5:33 pm

Kailey — January 1, 2010 @ 5:38 pm

happy new year!
Kath — January 1, 2010 @ 5:43 pm
Makes me feel better than I’m not the only sick one today
Chelsea — January 1, 2010 @ 6:02 pm
Sometimes grease IS the only answer!
Heather @ The Joyful Kitchen — January 1, 2010 @ 6:03 pm
today’s just another day, and you eat so well most of the time anyway I can’t imagine 2 slices of delightfully cheesy, greasy pizza will be too much for ya
Have fun at the gym, I bet you come back feeling great!
Erin S. (Free to Eat) — January 1, 2010 @ 6:19 pm
I have to say the pizza looked delicious. I wanted to let you know you have inspired me to start my own blog – and I hope you don’t mind I’ve added you to my blogroll. Happy New Year! Enjoy the eats!
Jordan @ Salt Sweat Sugar — January 1, 2010 @ 6:24 pm
I hate hangovers. I always chug water and take Excedrin right before bed at always wake up feeling great! I have to be ready for tonight because my family drinks tonight, too! Ha.

Exercise makes everything better!!
Deva (Voracious Vorilee) — January 1, 2010 @ 7:00 pm
Greasy pizza fixes everything
Maria (realfitmama) — January 1, 2010 @ 7:03 pm
I know exactly what you mean! We are leaving on a week long vacation Sunday so right now is “eat whatever is left in the fridge!” I read a quote the other day that I think sums it all up nicely though…”Most people are so concerned with what they eat between Christmas and New Years when really they should be most concerned with what they eat between New Years and Christmas.”
Lindsay Perrone (goodiesgalore) — January 1, 2010 @ 7:04 pm
I ate like crap and I’m not even hung over. At least you have an excuse. Nice work getting to the gym.
*Andrea* — January 1, 2010 @ 7:04 pm
i had a calzone from brick house yesterday to help my hangover… i woke up though and had 4 tums and sooo much water. at least you’re working out! that’s dedication
Kristin (whimsyville) — January 1, 2010 @ 7:22 pm
Bah – healthy eating can start on Monday. That’s the problem with holidays falling over a weekend.
Good job on getting to the gym!
Anna @ Newlywed, Newly Veg — January 1, 2010 @ 7:33 pm
lol– starting a diet hungover is never a good idea. All that grease probably helped soak up the alcohol, right!?!
Cynthia (It All Changes) — January 1, 2010 @ 7:38 pm
I’ve heard that the grease actually helps with the hangovers.
But your breakfast looks good!
Jocelyn — January 1, 2010 @ 7:44 pm
grease is your hangovers best friend…seriously!
amanda — January 1, 2010 @ 8:19 pm
I ate some very unhealthy foods today too. I had 5 guys burgers and fries for lunch and ate cici’s pizza buffet for dinner. Ummm yeah not the best but it was well needed for my slight hangover ha ha
Alison — January 1, 2010 @ 8:29 pm
LOL, I was doing so well this week, back on track after christmas, well the 2nd half of the week, I needed to get the snack foods and candies gone. But new year’s eve and today I have been munching on decidedly unhealthy things. Tomorrow is another day, I just wish I didn’t have a weigh in tomorrow…
Tasha — January 1, 2010 @ 9:39 pm
My New Year’s definitely included a giant hamburger. I threw a New Year’s brunch today, and now I’ve got lots of leftovers, only some of which are healthy. Hmm.
Jenny — January 1, 2010 @ 9:50 pm
Do what you need to get through a hangover–Hope you’re feeling better
Meredith (Pursuing Balance) — January 1, 2010 @ 10:58 pm

it’s funny how every year MILLIONS start off the new year with a hangover and the need for greasy comfort food…I am GUILTY as well.

Grease is the CURE for a hangover!
