Unintentional Brunch

December 31, 2009

I slept until almost 11:00 this morning! I haven’t done that since college. I guess 27 hours of travel will do that to ya!

Murphy also had a slow start this morning. Look at that tired face!

As soon as I got out of bed, I made myself a much-needed iced coffee.

IMG_1741.JPG

It tastes so good when it hits your lips! ;-)

IMG_1740.JPG IMG_1739.JPG

Then, Mal and I got busy in the kitchen making breakfast. On the menu: veggie omelets.

Mal is quite the omelet master. His omelet masterpiece was perfect.

IMG_1756.JPG

In addition to lots of veggies, Mal added a ton of chipotle cheddar cheese– it was practically spilling out the sides.

Delish! :-D

The Spark Giveaway

I was supposed to pick 5 winners for The Spark giveaway. Oops! So, here they are!

It’s always nice to hear tips from average people. Nutritionists know the facts but those facts usually aren’t one-size-fits-all. Hearing what works for different people brings an a whole different perspecitive.

Tina – this sounds just like my morning, I accidentdally slept in too! But I have to go to work til 3am tonight, so I think my body was preparing. I enjoy reading your blog all the time and you’ve inspired me to make me blog so much more than it once was in 2010! Thanks :) Happy New Year!

Wow, I’m impressed at the omlette making skills. I cannot for the life of me make an omelette that doesn’t turn out looking like scrambled eggs!

You must have needed the sleep. Now you are all rested up and ready for 2010. Murphy is so cute! I can’t remember if I’ve commented this before, but we have a Murphy of our own. He’s a little bit bigger though. :)
Also I like your food photos. I am trying to get better at food photography, so if you have any tips…

Carolyn December 31, 2009 at 1:47 pm

It’s lunchtime and your omelet is making me drool…

That was probably some well needed rest, sleeping on a plane or bus is not the greatest sleep!

Man, I wish I could have slept in this morning…. 6am came too fast. Saving up my vacation though for trips in 2010 though!

Hope you have a great day and Happy New Years!!!!

I am sure you needed the rest after that trip! You knew it was going to hit you! Veggie omelets are a standard here. So good and they always hit the spot!

Seriously, how do people get omelets to look like that? Mine usually fall apart into eggy vegetable mush which still tastes great but look ugh :(

Anna @ Newlywed, Newly Veg December 31, 2009 at 2:07 pm

lol– I know what you mean about sleeping in! I’ve been “sleeping in” to 8:30 and 9, and it feels SO late to me!! Ah, adulthood :-)

That omelet looks great — I’m always too intimidated to try omelets and just make scrambled eggs with veggies instead. ;)

Tina – I’ve been hunting for your email address, but can’t find it, so this will have to be a public comment instead. I just wanted to tell you that I’m really enjoying your re-commitment to the blog. I’m sure it’s a much bigger time commitment on your part, but I really enjoy reading your posts and seeing what you’re eating. Thanks and keep it up!
