It snowed last night.
You’d think I’d be excited about the first true snowfall of the season, but I think winter is the worst! Ick.
But, I do get to dress super stylish when I take Murphy outside:

I’m actually wearing 2 hooded sweatshirts– in addition to a t-shirt, thermal shirt, a long sleeve shirt, and a fleece jacket. I’m a freak. (I can’t believe I put this photo on my blog!
Oh well. It’s not like it’s the first ridiculous photo of me on the internet!)
Murphy wasn’t sure what to think about the snow this morning.

Like Mom, he didn’t love it.

Thankfully, Murphy got right down to business and we were back inside just a few minutes later.
For breakfast, I made a nice, warm bowl jar of oatmeal.

In the mix:
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1 banana
- 2 tbsp wheatberries
- 2 tbsp ground flaxseed meal
- Cinnamon
- Almond butter

I really wanted hot coffee with breakfast this morning, but I was too lazy to make a pot and the cold stuff was already made.

After breakfast, I spent about an hour catching-up with emails and blog stuff. This job never ends!

Around 1:00 pm, my stomach started to grumble, but it was time to pick out our Christmas tree, so I grabbed a cashew cookie Larabar to go.

On the way to the Christmas tree place, Mal and I sang along to John Denver and the Muppets in the car. It’s Mal’s absolute favorite holiday album. He knows every word to every song.

There was a sea of trees to chose from!

Like every year, Mal was on a mission to find the perfect tree.

Luckily, he has a good eye for quality Christmas trees, so it didn’t take Mal long to find a nice one.

Mal picked out quite a beauty of a tree! It’s nearly perfect!

After a quick trim off the trunk, we loaded our tree onto my car.

Our tree looked a lot bigger on my car than it did in the lot! It’s massive!

Once we got the tree set up, I threw together a quick salad with deli ham and a scoop of pesto on top for lunch. I was starving!

Mal and I have a nice little evening planned tonight: decorating our tree, listening to Christmas music, baking sugar cookies, and drinking eggnog. Can’t wait!
