Slow Motion

December 9, 2009

My life is in slow motion this morning. I slept in until 6:45 and didn’t get myself to the gym until almost 7:30, so now I’m rushing around like a crazy person. Typical, right? :-? Anyway…

Breakfast was especially fabulous this morning. :-D I had the ripest banana ever to add to my oatmeal. The key to soft, pillowy banana oats is definitely a super ripe one.

In the mix:

  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed meal
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 scoops of Teddie peanut butter

I also drank an iced coffee with eggnog with breakfast. The eggnog added a TON of sweetness, so I didn’t need to add any agave nectar to my iced coffee. In fact, my iced coffee + eggnog was so sweet, I added even more iced coffee on two different occasions. A little eggnog goes a long way!

New Blog

So, I have some exciting news for you guys! I’m starting a new blog!

As you know, I work at NuVal as a “social media strategist,” so having my very own company blog definitely makes sense for my position and responsibilities. Plus, as much as I believe in NuVal and support their system, I’d like to keep Carrots ‘N’ Cake separate. Of course, I’ll never be able to keep them truly separate since CNC is about my life, which includes working for NuVal, but ya know what I mean, right? ;-)

I’m so excited to start a new blog! Ahhh! I hope to debut it within the week!

Question of the Day

Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?

Uber ripe bananas totally do make the difference in oatmeal. I only like eating greenish bananas (kinda weird huh?) so once they get yellow they become destine for my oats.

Hidden talents…I can play the piano but I try not to tell people that because after 13 years of practice I should be a whole lot better than I am!

I love to sing show tunes! I was a vocal performance major (before switching to English Lit) in college… Every now and then, I have a little too much wine and decide to perform for people… then I end up so excited I just keep going and going… and then I wake up the next morning and smack my head like “Did I sing show tunes for 45 minutes last night in front of all our friends?!!” Embarrassing!

yeah for a new blog!

My hidden talent is finding things. Hunni loses stuff all the time and I am able to find it with no problem. He acutally stops looking and just lets me find it.

I know this may be a odd post, but I was wondering how the weather was in NYC during January? I want to go for the first time on my 30th birthday, but everyone is saying it is so cold. Right now it is about -8 degrees where I live, so when I hear people saying it is cold I think that may be relative. Thanks in advance!

I used to be incredible with the hula hoop, though who knows if I still am? My one enduring talent: I make a scary realistic pig noise. It’s a really low, gutteral noise that comes from the back of my throat. It’s actually uncomfortable to make but it’s pretty freaky.

Can’t wait for the new blog! my dad does eggnog in hot coffee for the whole christmas season (and with maple syrup the rest of the year!)
my hidden talent is probably the ability to talk anyone into anything – my friends joke i could sell an eskimo ice!
and i would love the apron bc I’m in college and always baking and its so cute and fun and not dowdy!

I can’t wait to see the new blog. My hidden talent is that I can draw tattoos and tribal designs. I used to do it when I was younger and have stopped. Now that I’m older, no one suspects that I have this hidden talent. Oh, and I can speak Spanish.
