Slow Motion

December 9, 2009

My life is in slow motion this morning. I slept in until 6:45 and didn’t get myself to the gym until almost 7:30, so now I’m rushing around like a crazy person. Typical, right? :-? Anyway…

Breakfast was especially fabulous this morning. :-D I had the ripest banana ever to add to my oatmeal. The key to soft, pillowy banana oats is definitely a super ripe one.

In the mix:

  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed meal
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 scoops of Teddie peanut butter

I also drank an iced coffee with eggnog with breakfast. The eggnog added a TON of sweetness, so I didn’t need to add any agave nectar to my iced coffee. In fact, my iced coffee + eggnog was so sweet, I added even more iced coffee on two different occasions. A little eggnog goes a long way!

New Blog

So, I have some exciting news for you guys! I’m starting a new blog!

As you know, I work at NuVal as a “social media strategist,” so having my very own company blog definitely makes sense for my position and responsibilities. Plus, as much as I believe in NuVal and support their system, I’d like to keep Carrots ‘N’ Cake separate. Of course, I’ll never be able to keep them truly separate since CNC is about my life, which includes working for NuVal, but ya know what I mean, right? ;-)

I’m so excited to start a new blog! Ahhh! I hope to debut it within the week!

Question of the Day

Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?

That’s so exciting about the new blog!

Mmmm…I love eggnog. I want some right now.

Hm, hidden talent.. I don’t know. I have talents, but they’re not so much hidden. Um, maybe that I’m actually pretty good at sports even though I claim to “hate” them :) I always tell my boyfriend to “turn offffff the gaaaame!”. And then one day he took me to the park to play around with a football and he was surprised to learn I was pretty darn good :) Ha!

How exciting about the new blog!

I think my hidden talent is finding spelling and grammar mistakes, ha ha. I see them even when I’m not looking that hard.

Late at 6:45? I just had breakfast. It’s 1:30. By no means saying it’s normal; just throwing it out there. ;p

I can fall asleep on any mode of transportation- car, bus, airplane, boat, you name it. Since I live in Connecticut but go to college in Colorado, it makes the long trek home much easier!

That’s awesome :) What a neat career you have. I’d say my talent would have to be dance and doing creative projects/designs.

I can teach myself any song on piano by ear. Even really difficult songs like Turkish March. But I can’t read music. Go figure.
