Feelin’ Buzzed

December 26, 2009

Good morning! 8-)

I’m feeling super caffeinated right now! 8-O Buzzzzz! I drank two good-sized coffees before 9:00 AM and now I am really feelin’ it!

The caffeine was much-needed this morning, however. Mal and I woke up, showered, dressed, packed, and then headed to the hotel restaurant for breakfast– all before the sun came up.

The hotel restaurant had a modern-French, sort of funky, feel to it. It was cute.

I started my morning with a cup of coffee, which had a nice, bold flavor.

Mal took a sip of my coffee and instantly felt the buzz. It was an intense brew– just the way I like it!

For breakfast, I ordered the “Healthy Start,” which was a bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar and golden raisins on top.

IMG_1073.JPG

And fresh fruit on the side.

Delicious and satisfying.

Minutes after finishing breakfast, Mal and I grabbed the hotel shuttle to the airport. At the airport, the lines for security were SO LONG, we were convinced that we’d miss our flight. Luckily, our plane was delayed, so we ended up with plenty of time to spare.

We even had enough time to grab some coffee from Peet’s.

I ordered an iced coffee to which I added non-fat milk and hearty shakes of both cinnamon and cocoa powder.

No need for sugar. ;-)

When boarding the plane, Mal and I made a wonderful discovery about our seats: Emergency Exit Row! Wahoo! Our lucky day!

IMG_1099.JPG

Our seats were quite spacious.

With plenty of leg room! :-D

(Don’t my legs look like 2 different pairs of jeans?! Weird.)

It’s a little about an hour to Eugene and then a 2.5-hour drive to Medford. We’re almost there!

I have felt so bad for you since your travel headaches began and I’ve been praying like a good girl that we don’t run into similar trouble next weekend when we go to Chicago for a week. We’ll be traveling with two little girls age 8 and 2…NO PROBLEMS PLEASE!! :)

You should really stop in Ashland (it is about 45 minutes from Medford) at some point and get the carrot cake at this restaurant called Munchies. It is to die for! :)

Yikes that would be one big buzz. I can’t do that much caffeine or I can’t sleep.

Hope your road trip is fun.
