Working Away

November 4, 2009

I spent my morning working away at NuVal. I can’t believe how fast the morning flew by! I love that!

Mid-morning, I made myself a cup of coffee with half & half and sugar. The caffeine definitely helped fuel my tweeting! ;-) (I still can’t believe Twitter is part of my job description!!!)

I dug into my lunch pretty early today. My oatmeal + acorn squash didn’t hold me over well– probably because I missed out on my usual double scoop of peanut butter (protein + fat). Plus, I’m having one of those bottomless pit days! I didn’t even workout this morning? Hunger is so weird!

Today’s lunch was a homemade salad with Boston lettuce, grape tomatoes, carrots, green bell peppers, Nasoya noodles, shredded cheddar, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, and a big spoonful of Claire’s relish on top.

I munched on a delicious Refresh Glo Bar after eating my salad. I loved the chocolate flavor! :-D

And then I had some more chocolate. I’m having some serious chocolate cravings today! Cravings are weird too! :-?

Camera Recommendations

So, my point-and-shoot camera has finally crapped out. Can you tell from the fuzzy photos in this post? Ick.

Any recommendations for a cheap-ish point-and-shoot? Preferably a Canon model? I need to buy one before I leave for San Francisco this weekend! Thanks, guys!

Mal and I are going out for drinks with friends and then seeing Ray LaMontagne tonight. I can’t wait!!! I love him– almost as much as David Gray. ;-)

I should have time to squeeze in a dinner post, so I’ll see ya a little later! 8-)

No question — the Bourbon Mashed Sweet Potatoes! Sweet potato pie/pudding is basically the ONLY thing I eat at Thanksgiving and I spend all year looking forward to it, so I would love to be the one to make it this year — with Xagave!

I’m in the market for a new point and shoot too. I have a few bulky SLRs and a good DSLR but like to have a small camera to keep in my bag for those unexpected shots. I recently broke my old trusty Canon Powershot A540 and replaced it with a Nikon Coolpix ??? that I hated. I ended up giving it to my friend for her birthday. I don’t know what I thinking buying a Nikon, I’ve always been a Canon girl. I’m considering one of the new powershot models, Canon SD1200, or the more expensive Canon PowerShot G11. I’m still researching but would recommend getting one with a viewfinder. Some of the newer digitals only have the LCD display which is sometimes hard to see in the sunlight. Let me know if you find any good deals and I’ll let you know if I find a really good one.

Mascarpone and Pear Galette with Xagave? Hello delicious!

I love my Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS. I think it may be one of the cheaper models, but I lug it everywhere, it’s so easy to use and program, and it comes in some fun colors. Plus the battery lasts forever yet takes only a bit to charge. It’s my baby.
