Thanksgiving Day 2009
Wow. Uploading these photos took FOREVER. Not having Ecto anymore is really throwing a wrench into my blogging career.
Ok, enough complaining about stupid Ecto. Here’s my recap of Thanksgiving Day 2009!
I started my Thanksgiving morning with an eggnog misto and a breakfast sandwich from Starbucks. I needed to eat something before the big feast, which wasn’t until 4 PM.
After a quick bite to eat, I went for a run around town. Mal and I grew up about 2 miles away from each other, so I ran from his parents’ house to my mom’s house and back. It was a little over 4.5 miles roundtrip.
After a quick shower, Mal, Murphy, and I drove to my grandparents’ house. We already had plans to eat Thanksgiving dinner with Mal’s family, but we wanted to pop in and say ‘hello’ to my family before they sat down to dinner.
Plus, everyone wanted to see us Murphy.
While at my grandparents’ house, I snacked on some grapes and cheese. My sister also poured me a small glass of cranberry-apple wine, but I didn’t really like it, so she ended up drinking mine.
My sis and me:
Family!
After visiting with my fam for about an hour, Mal and I headed to his parents’ house for Turkey Day dinner.
The dining table was so beautiful!
I loved the fancy dishes and serving pieces!
Before dinner, we had a delightful cocktail hour with drinks, snacks, and a roaring fire in the background.
During cocktail hour, I sipped on a glass of white wine and munched on some crackers and nuts.
And then it was time to EAT!
Everything was delicious! I love Thanksgiving!!!
My plate:
I served myself a small portion of everything at the table. I also drank some red wine with dinner.
And, of course, I left room for dessert!
Fresh whipped cream!
Dessert was awesome! Homemade pumpkin pie with fresh whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. Total heaven!
I had a great Thanksgiving this year! I definitely splurged, but I didn’t leave the dinner table sick to my stomach. It was the perfect about of moderation and indulgence.
Stay tuned. There’s even more to come! Holy blogging!

Ecto isn’t working at all for you still? It’s been giving me issues, so I looked it up and figured out that uploading my pictures to Flickr caused it to be unable to post. Why are there so many issues?? Oh well! Sorry it’s not working for you!
But at least you had a fabulous Thanksgiving meal to make you feel much better.
The food looks awesome. I love imagining all of us healthy living/food bloggers out there at the same time on Thanksgiving taking pictures of everything we ate, and the family wondering why cranberry sauce is so interesting that we should take a picture of it!

Glad you had a good time with both families. That pie looks picture perfect and classic. I love that you enjoyed real home-made whipped cream with it. It’s the best. Move over, cool whip.

Wow, both of your families tables look fabulous yet cozy. I especially like how your grandmother set up the 5 tables for the large gathering. You are very lucky to have both sets of family so close. Thanks for sharing the pics.
