So, I had planned to tell you guys my news this morning, but I slept late and didn’t have time to write this post. I’ve told a few people my good news, but I wasn’t able to announce it to the blogworld until now– and it was a really hard to secret to keep!
You guys remember when I went to New York City a few weeks ago, right? Well, it was to meet with a PUBLISHER.
So, some of you guessed correctly! I got a book deal and…
I AM WRITING A BOOK!!!! 
My book will hit shelves in Spring 2011. Ahhh, a real live book! I still can’t believe this is really happening!
The book is going to be a healthy lifestyle guide based off many ideas from Carrots ‘N’ Cake (i.e. Cookie Friday). But, the contents of the book will be entirely new material, so while you’ll still see my daily posts on CNC, I’ll also be writing brand-spankin’ new content for my book. The book will be about 250 pages and sold at Barnes and Noble.
So, how did this all happen?
Like Jenna, the publishing company contacted me through my blog. The email seemed so random and far-fetched, I almost deleted it! I mean, who would want me to write a book?!? And, to be honest, writing a book wasn’t really on my radar. But, the more I thought about the idea, the more excited I got about it. Plus, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I’d be crazy to turn it down!
After a number of conversations with the Editorial Director at the publishing company, I submitted a book proposal… and waited patiently.
A couple of weeks past and I still hadn’t heard anything, so I figured that I just wasn’t cut-out to write a book. But then, I received an email inviting me to New York City to discuss my proposal in person! The experience was nerve-racking and exciting, but once I met with the publishing team, I knew that I wanted to write a book.
Only a few days after my trip to NYC, I received a formal offer to write my book!!! I can’t believe that I am going to be a book author! I’m still freaking out about it!
If you had told me even just a year ago that I would write a book in my lifetime, I would have never believed you. I feel so very fortunate to have this amazing opportunity, and it’s crazy to think what my little ol’ blog has done for me. It gives me faith that good things really do happen to people who work hard.

Well done you, I just wanted to say thank you for being such an inspiration, I have been following your blog for a while now eagerly awaiting my daily email updates each day. You have actually inspired me to follow my heart and start my own healthy living blog. I am a keen healthy eater and exercise is one of my favorite things to do (my friends think I’m weird so finding blogs like yours reassures me i’m not the weird one they are!)
