Gotta make tonight’s dinner post quick! Mal and I are meeting friends for drinks in about 45 minutes, so I’m eating on the run! Good thing pizza is easy to eat while standing! 😉
I LOVE pizza! It’s probably the only meal that I could eat multiple days in a row and not get sick of it. 😉
Sausage, Spinach, and Provolone Pizza
Recipe inspired by Real Simple’s Sausage, Spinach, and Provolone Pizza recipe
- 1 store-bought (or homemade) pizza crust
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 ounces ground Italian sausage
- 1 small bunch spinach, thick stems removed (about 3 cups)
- 4 ounces (approx. 5 slices) of thinly sliced sharp provolone
- Salt and pepper to taste
Heat oven to 425º F. Spray baking sheet with cooking spray and place pizza dough on top.
Meanwhile, heat the olive in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until no longer pink, 4 to 5 minutes. Add the spinach and salt and pepper to taste, tossing, until spinach is semi wilted.
Top the pizza dough with the slices of cheese and then sausage-spinach mixture.
Bake until the crust is crisp and the cheese has melted, 12 to 15 minutes.
Amazing pizza combo! I loved the bold flavor of the provolone! It totally made the pizza! 😀
