Not A Single Fruit

Good morning! It’s good to be home! I missed my guys so much!

I’m off to a super early dentist appointment this morning, so I prepared most of this post last night on the flight home to Beantown.

We didn’t have a single fruit (or veggie!) in the whole house for breakfast, so I made due with what we had. I ended up toasting two Van’s Waffles and smearing peanut butter and jam on top. Not a horrible breakfast.

I’m sure my morning will included coffee at some point too.

I love Murphy

Mal sent me these photos of Murphy over the weekend, and I just had to share because they’re such polar opposites.

Adorable, could-be-a-model pug:

Funny-looking, old man pug:

Don’t forget about Eggland’s Best Holiday Recipe Contest. I’ve already received some delicious submissions and all of the recipes will be featured on the Eggland’s Best website. Cool!

Check out Megan’s Pumpkins For Pink E-Book, which raises money for the fight against breast cancer. I contributed my Chocolate Pumpkin Loaf recipe to it.

Question of the Day

What’s your favorite holiday?

Mine is probably Thanksgiving! Not surprising, right? ;-) Of course, I love the food, but I also love being with family and seeing friends at our mini-reunion in our hometown each year.

P.S. Remember my recent trip and secret meeting New York City? Well, some really good news came out of it!!! Details coming soon!

Can’t wait to hear the good news about the NYC trip! I love Vans waffle sandwiches, they always result in a good morning.

My favorite holiday is easily Thanksgiving. I just think the idea of people uniting over food and gratitude is such a beautiful thing. It’s the least gimmicky holiday, too.

Thanksgiving is also definitely my favorite holiday. My family doesn’t really do the religious ones and my parent’s host a great Thanksgiving with 25 of our relatives! We now set up an L shaped table that extends from the dining room into the kitchen.

Your dog is so cute :) My favorite holiday is Christmas. I live in Canada and we never celebrated Thanksgiving. Our Thanksgiving is in October, not the same date as you in US. Waffles with peanut butter and jam looks good. I rarely eat waffles. I would like to have a waffle machine to do homemade waffles.

I am still waiting for this good news:) ha! I love Thanksgiving too, even though I really don’t like Thanksgiving foods:) I don’t eat meat and I don’t like stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc. We celebrated on Sat. though since my dad was visiting us. I made roasted veggies, a POM salad, and my dad’s potato rolls are the best:) So I do like some things…and I made a berry cobbler too:) I really love being with family and of course football:)

Aww Murphy is so cute!! My favorite holiday isn’t really a holiday at all – it’s the day BEFORE Thanksgiving, which I spend in my Mom’s kitchen. We do all the holiday baking, drink to much wine and spiced cider and my friends who still live in my hometown all come by to “help” (i.e., sample the homemade fudge and other goodies). It’s always a lot of fun and both my Mom and I really look forward to it!
