Monday Morning Treat

Mmmmm… good iced coffee this morning!

I got to try a new variety: Organic/Fair Trade Berkshire Blend from the Barrington Coffee Roasting Company. It’s described as “bold and luxurious, this coffee yields a uniquely complex cup with a smooth finish.” Now, doesn’t that sound delightful? ;-)

The folks from Regional Best recently sent me a gift certificate to shop their website, which is an online food marketplace where you buy direct from all sorts of food artisans across the country. Mal and I seem to plow through coffee, so I used my gift certificate to purchase this bag of coffee from the Berkshires.

IMG_0562.JPG

I loved the Regional Best concept so much, I asked the company if they’d like to do a giveaway on my blog because I love supporting small businesses and I know you guys do too. So, the folks at Regional Best offered to giveaway a $25 shopping certificate for anything you want.

To enter: Visit the Regional Best website, shop around, and leave a comment on this post about which product you would buy if you won the shopping certificate. I will randomly pick a winner tonight.

Good luck! :-D

Besides coffee, breakfast included a bowl of pumpkin oats with raisins and pumpkin seeds cooked in and scoop of peanut butter on the side.

While I was snapping photos, Murphy gave me the most pathetic-looking pug face. Poor baby. His life is SO hard.

Blog Your Way to a Book Deal

Check out this neat article that Google Alerts pinged back to me: Blog Your Way to a Book Deal. The article mentions Carrots ‘N’ Cake and talks about how you can monetize your blog, which, if you spend hours and hours each day creating free content for your readers, is usually well deserved!

Just to note: The article mentions getting paid to review products, but I have never received payment for a product review. I do, however, receive products for free, and, of course, I will give you my honest opinion about them.

Maybe I’ll win this time!! Ok, after perusing the Regional Best website, I’ve decided I would kill for their pumpkin pie. Let me explain. I live in Paris (but have an address in the states) and anytime I want good ol’ American treats, I have to make them myself but they don’t always come out the way I like them. This pumpkin pie would give me just the fix I need this season and cure my US nostalgia, at least for a little!
