I Have that Friday Feeling
Hi, guys! Good morning!
I have that Friday feeling and I’m ready for the weekend to begin– I have a fun one planned!
Workout
I started my morning with an awesome run on the treadmill at the gym. I covered a little over 3.5 miles and then walked for another mile or so while catching up with my celebrity gossip in US Weekly. (I’m so behind with that too!)
I’ve come to the conclusion that there are 2 types of people: people who love running and can’t live without it and people who don’t like running even if they try.
I love running and it makes me sad to not be able do it. Plus, running is so relaxing for me. I love having the time alone to think and talk to myself (in my head) while I run. Running is also an amazing stress-reliever, especially after a tough day! As cheesy as it sounds, when I can’t go out for a run, I feel like there is something missing from my life.
Even though my hip isn’t 100%, it’s definitely getting better. After running 8.5 miles in San Francisco, over the course of two days, my hip was only slightly sore. It was more annoying than painful. I just love running so much, a 3-4 mile run once a week is definitely do-able for me. I just need to make sure to listen to my body and not push it too far.
Breakfast
DELICIOUS breakfast this morning!
I could seriously eat another bowl!
I ended up mixing about 1/4 cup of the pomegranate pumpkin sauce from last night into my usual bowl of oats. I also added some vanilla soy milk, a splash of water, and 1 tbsp of ground flaxseed meal.
Omg, my oats were amazing– creamy, sweet, zingy, satisfying, and totally scrumptious. There will likely be a breakfast repeat tomorrow morning!

I also had a glass of iced coffee with vanilla soy milk and agave nectar. It was an awesome Friday morning breakfast!

Divine Caroline
As you know, I’ve worked with the folks at Divine Caroline on their Life Amplified program in the past. They have a wonderful website and my blog buddy, Roni, does some great work for them, too.

I hate running! Absolutely hate it! Give me some weights to lift and I’m happy.
Happy Friday Tina!!

Cute little mug!
I dont hate running but I certainly dont love it. I enjoy walking much more! I do envy those who can slip on their shoes, though, and just run and run. Id be a hot mess.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:36 am
I HATE running, except when I’m angry. I would much rather take a ballet class or do some yoga.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:37 am
I LOVE running! It’s my escape, my release, it’s my thing!
I try very hard to balance running w/yoga, because i want to be able to go for a 4 mile run when I’m 60! I know how hard running is on the body… so I’m extra careful….
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:38 am
i love running for all the reasons you do. it seriously gives me the alone time that i crave, and its great that i get to head out on the trails and just talk with myself!
i love it
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:38 am
I love running which I never thought I’d say. I was so sad when I couldn’t run for an entire month after my first marathon and then start back for only 10 minutes at a time. Stupid tendonitis! It’s such a great stress reliever and you can do it anywhere.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:44 am
I guess that I like running. When I HAD to do it as a part of my training while in my sport, I hated it. Now when I can do it on my own terms for however long I want, I don’t mind it.
HAPPY FRIDAY
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:44 am
Depends on the day for me… some days I love running and some days I only like it. I used to hate it though, so I’ve come a long way.
I’m also so pumped that it’s Friday! I rarely go to the gym in the morning, but I did today. Now I can start enjoying my Friday immediately after work. Big win!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:45 am
Love it but it seems as though my body is not cut out for it. I’ve trained for marathons in the past only to drop out of my training regimen once the mileage gets too high and I begin to get injured. It doesn’t matter what I do (don’t do) but my body always begins to break down. I was on a good streak: over the last 4 months I was going 3 times/week for a little over 3 miles at a time. Two weeks ago I injured my hip flexor and now I am slowly recovering and having to use the elliptical, lifecycle, step mill, etc. Nothing beats a good run to clear the head and work the body.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:46 am
I hate that I HATE to run — how about that
I’ve tried to love it, but I’m just NOT runner. I suppose I LIKE to job, given the right conditions
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:46 am
I think there’s another type of person–the one who longs to be a runner and runs, but doesn’t exactly LOVE it. I’ve run a marathon and two half-marathons but I by no means love it. I do love the great feeling afterwards though. There’s nothing like the feeling of accomplishment that comes after running a longer run.
Have you ever run the Tufts 10K here in Boston? I love that race bc its all women and they give out great goodies!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:47 am
I love running. If I did not have running I would probably have alredy checked in to an insane asylum. Running is my number one stress relief, it makes me feel good about myself, and its so rewarding. I think thats great that your hip is doing better and you can begin running again
Your breakfast looks great
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:48 am
I LOVE running. I feel the same way as you – it’s my time to be alone with my thoughts and de-stress. I feel so accomplished and energized after a run too. I do try to mix up my routine though to take it easy on my ankles and knees, so I run every other day, and it’s always something to look forward to!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:52 am
I hate a love/hate relationship with running.. I love it and I love how I feel when I complete a nice long run.. I hate how much it hurts my knees
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:53 am
Love it! I’m addicted and love doing races. It is excellent cardio and great for de-stressing. Its also an activity both my parents do and have experience with so its always a favorite topic to discuss in our family.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:54 am
I LOVE it!! Are there times when it is really hard and I’m struggling to keep pace? Yes. Are there times when I’m on a runners high and it makes all the pain worth it? Definite Yes! I love the way it makes my body feel and look! I don’t run everyday though. I think cross training is oh so important!!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:55 am
totally depends on the day… but when i’m feelin’ it, it’s AMAZING and there’s no better workout.
for the most part, i’d say i love it!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:55 am
I LOVE to run. Such a beautiful, reflective time for me.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:56 am
I love, love running! I’ve been injured before and it kills me to have to take time off! Running is such a great outlet for me.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:57 am
I pretty much hate running… although I’m really trying hard to run more and get more “used” to it. Went to Marathon Sports and got a new spiffy pair of sneakers as motivation!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 9:59 am
I’m starting to run now. I have respiratory problems so it’s really hard for me, but I’m doing it slowly. My personal trainer asked me if I would like to be able to run and I said OF COURSE and were now working on it. Interval training is the best option for me, before I do those long runs.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:01 am
LOVE IT!! I actually don’t feel right if I don’t run at least 3-4 times a week. I took classes at the gym for the past two nights and my body is wondering what the heck is going on. Injuring myself and not being able to run as much is one of my biggest fears. Hope your hip continues to get better!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:02 am
I hate running. It bores me to death… I like cardio classes / routines that mix things up + kickboxing is my fave. Give me an hour cardio class & I’m $, make me run for 10 minutes & I’m miserable :/ Don’t know why?
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:04 am
I really only *like* to run – but I LOVE the feeling afterwards!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:04 am
I hate to run…however with that being said I run all the time because it burns so many calories and being unemployed it really wastes a lot of time. I only like to run outside tho and hate the threadmill with a passion!!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:04 am
I can’t run because of my knee replacement. I wish I could though! I don’t seem to like any other exercise though. I get bored too fast.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:08 am
I used to hate running because I could only run for about a mile without stopping. I felt like a failure. I kept at it though because I hate feeling like a can’t do something, and now I can run 8 miles! It might not seem like a lot to some, but I’ve worked hard for those 8 miles and now I love running
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:11 am
I love the idea of running and how I feel after a run, but during the run I’m usually wishing for it to be over. Maybe I’ll grow to love it in time…
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:13 am
I am in love with running. It changed my life and healed my heart. I don’t know where I would be right now if I hadn’t started running.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:14 am
I love running! I began running in January and it has completely reshaped my life. I’m so glad I got started and have continued to train!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:14 am
I used to hate running, but lately I’m liking it more and more. I’m definitely not a natural, I’m pretty hippy and not built like a runner at all! However, I do love that I can be outside when I do it, which is so much nicer than being stuck in a gym! Because of that I’ve grown fond of the activity over time.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:15 am
I am so with you on the working out thing. I don’t run, but I do weights and interval training. My day just feels weird when I don’t work out!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:23 am
I used to hate running, but as I got better, I started to really enjoy it. I love it now when I can run and chat with friends (that’s my I recently started a little running group) but occasionally prefer to just stop and walk, and enjoy the scenery/weather instead. Listening to your body is definitely key!!
Hope to see you tomorrow
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:26 am
I used to be in the camp that I hated running or so I thought. I wasn’t a natural runner so I didn’t do it at all. Now that I have “taught” myself to run through the c25k programs I LOVE it. I feel your pain on something being missing when you can’t do it. I went through major withdrawls with both injuries that prevented running.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:28 am
I love running! I could not live without it! I was worried when I got pregnant that I would have to stop running, but I did a half marathon a few weeks ago when I was 4 months pregnant. Now I am into month 5 and still going! I think the key will be not stopping!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:29 am
I like the idea of running. But I’ve never really done it before and can’t even run a mile! I can do workout videos or use elliptical machines and all of that, but running is an entirely different thing to me. Maybe someday I will take it up.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:31 am
Love running! TGIF
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:32 am
WOO HOO FRIDAY!!!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:32 am
I LOVE running! sometimes so much I overdo it and get injured. I hated exercising before I found running but now I can’t get enough of it!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:34 am
I LOVE running. Sometimes I love it so much I get stress fractures… I also love your oats bowl! So cute!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:34 am
I like running, but it’s so hard for me to do it in the winter. It’s dark here by the time I get home and we can’t afford to join a gym…so I really don’t know what to do.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:35 am
Wow, that breakfast looks so good!!
I usually have a hard time with the first 3 miles of a run and really have to push myself through it – but after that the energy and endorphins kick in and I feel AMAZING and enjoy every step!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:36 am
I do feel really good AFTER running but I don’t LIKE, nor LOVE it… however I do not hate it… What is that makes me?!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:37 am
I am one of those who LOVES running! Though i’m still fairly new (a year and half running), I sometimes have a hard time calling myself a runner.
I’m by no means great at it, and sometimes I have days where it’s hard to get to it, but it’s the only thing I have to relieve my stress and quietly think over the day and any worries. By the time I’m done I feel so wonderful and accomplished!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:40 am
love your oats, they make getting out of bed worth it
i happen to LOVE running – but only when i think of it as something that makes me strong and more mentally sane from the endorphins. i did track in high school and enjoyed the thrill of it. however, when i compare my workouts to others or force myself to run (when i really jsut want to take a walk or a swim) because i ate a cookie (bad thoughts!!) i end up having a terrible time and hate running. working on this definitely.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:43 am
i love running. and i hate it. but mostly love it. especially if im outside. ESPECIALLY if im on a trail. have you ever gone trail running? its a new discovery for me and i absolutely LOVE it. every run is a new and different challenge and sometimes you get to get muddy! i hate treadmills though. i find them helpful for speedwork though. but boy are they boring. my new obsession is listening to (nerd alert) showtunes while on the treadmill. and i nerdily sing along (silently of course) and i’m starting to not dread my indoor runs:) i think its easy to love running once you start improving. i hated it at first. its like growing your hair past that awkward inbetween long and short stage.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:44 am
I love that you get so creative with your leftovers. I hate (HATE!) to waste food, so I’m always trying to do the same…
As for running, I’m actually on the fence. Some days, I cannot get enough… other days, I struggle, mentally, to make it 2 miles. I just get bored. Maybe I need some new songs on my playlist?!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:45 am
I have learned to love running! It was a learning process for me, because I actually had to learn how to run all over again! I was getting aches and pains, and through some coaching found I was twisting and turning during my runs. Now I can run 5 miles without a twinge of pain.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:47 am
I love running, when running is good. Sometimes I get frustrated but when everything is in sync, it’s definitely love. Sometimes I might just like it (or hate it, if it’s hard) during the run, but afterwards I feel so good and that feeling carries over for hours.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:47 am
I love running, when I’m feeling good. Some days I only like it, but I never hate it. It gives me mental strength, but sadly not buns of steel.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:48 am
I love running. I ran this morning as well. I was not able to run for several months earlier this year and it was very frustrating. However, I learned to appreciate the benefits of cycling and got back into swimming. Once I was able to run, I did two triathlons so it worked out.
However, I think it’s extremely important to take your time and listen to your body when it comes to running because it can be hard on your body.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:50 am
I love how I feel afterward, so that pushes me to try harder and go further. I recently started running a few times a week and have worked up to 3 miles, it’s hard to *hate* progress! Now I just need to get my speed up to match my new “endurance”!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:53 am
Some days I like running, other days I love it. But I don’t get that you think during running. One of the aspects about running I do love is that I DON’T think- I just run. It clears my head so well. I just feel the music.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 10:57 am
I really thought I hated it my whole life, but once I worked at it a little I definitely understand why people love it! Although it can be really tough, I feel so amazing after a good run. I think I might be addicted
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 11:07 am
I HATE running, and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s genetic. Everyone in my family has tried to like it, but we just don’t find it fun.
I do love dancing, pilates, and swimming, though!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 11:08 am
i dont have to answer that question, i dont think
hehe
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 11:11 am
I love running but I had a cross country coach in high school that pushed me to train too far, like 60 miles in one week too far, so needless to say I have horrible knees and shin splits now 6 years later and still can’t run. I have found that I also love spinning so I do this in place of runs.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 11:11 am
I like to run. I used to love it, but I was thinner and it hurt less. As I truly work on living a healthy life, I will begin to love it again:). I’ll tell you what I do love – that my kids see me running, that they sometimes come with me in their stroller, and they’re learning that it’s a way of life!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 11:12 am
I LOVE running! My week is not complete unless I get a few good outdoor runs in. Unfortunately my leg has been hurting, and I can’t go past 3 miles lately, and have cut back on my runs all together. This has been driving me crazy. It makes me sad not to be able to get out on the trails and run.
I use to hate running though. It is tough, but now my outlook on it has changed!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 11:14 am
I HATE running, while I love to workout I do not enjoy running and honestly do not think I ever will. I will stick to other forms of cardio, weights and yoga
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 11:18 am
Ugh….I know how you feel…I have irritated tendons in the top of my foot after my marathon 2 weeks ago and still can’t run! I never thought I was one of those people who couldn’t live without running, but I miss it SO BAD!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 11:20 am
You know what, up until about three weeks ago I used to hate it because I was “afraid” to run outside and just did the treadmill. It was boring and difficult, and even though I felt proud of myself afterward and liked how quickly it got me into shape, I almost never looked forward to it.
I honestly think that I treated exercise in general like a torture device to try and lose weight and “punish” myself for eating more than I should have, etc. etc. Once I figured out that working out didn’t contribute to my weight loss, but that it was more about my diet, I vowed to just work out when I felt like it and to do what felt good.
Now I run outside, 3 miles, twice a week. At first I felt like I didn’t belong with all the other runners outside, because they all looked so professional and were SO fast! But I found a route that I love (the JP Pond, for those of you who live in the Boston area) and it’s just beautiful – I see dogs chasing after ducks, people walking and running with with loved ones or friends, kids playing, the leaves changing, and then it started to turn into something that I not only enjoy but look forward to!
I’m running my first 5K with a friend during the first weekend in December, and I’m pumped for it! NOW I actually feel like a runner and understand why people love it so much. I’m glad that I gave it a chance!
Now I just need new running shoes…lol
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 11:23 am
I have hip issues too so I can’t run as much as I would like, but I love it when I can. I usually run twice a week about 5 miles each run. I figure that is better than nothing and my body can take that. I do the elliptical on my off days and I do strength training, yoga, etc. too.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 11:34 am
I LOVE running but it kind of hates me back, my legs always hurt!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 11:38 am
Running and I have a love/hate relationship, haha. I am slowly trying to build my running routine back but after a knee injury from overdoing it I keep hitting mental blocks. Thanks for the inspiring post!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 11:43 am
I definitely have a love/hate thing goin on with running. I get into lengths of time where i LOVE it and am running almost every day and just can’t get enough of it. This happened twice in the past year for a couple months each time. But the rest of time I was not feelin the running.
I sort of have been into it again, unfortunately it’s getting colder out and I am a much bigger fan of running outside than I am of the treadmill. So we shall see!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 11:45 am
I absolutely love running, and I especially love running in the fall. I love to smell and breathe in the crisp, cool air. I use it as a stress reliever, and I definitely talk to myself while I run. I hate running with an ipod or anything else. Running is ‘me’ time, and I love to just think as I run…personally, the music ruins it for me! I might be wierd, but I love training for marathons…my next is in Philly next weekend, yikes!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 11:50 am
Dare I say it? I *hate* running. I think it’s the swimmer in me – we always told the cross country runners “Your sport is our punishment!” I really, really want to love it. I do! But, it’s really hard for me for some reason. I’ve tried so many times to stick with it. But, I haven’t been successful. Now that I’m training for another triathlon, I HAVE to run. The run was by far the weakest part of my tri. I’m getting better – I swear. If anyone has any tips to get over this crazy hatred, I’m all ears. I’m ready to try anything. I am jealous of anyone that can go out and just run.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 11:54 am
I’m a combo. I either have “good” runs or “bad” runs. The bad runs are when I feel like my legs are lead and I can barely run a block, wheezing and moaning. But then I have a good run where my legs are pumping, lungs are good and I’m winning the “mental” game of running. I caught myself with a HUGE smile on my face 3 miles into a run last weekend and I thought “who is this girl?”

I always thought I’d be one of those people who don’t like running, but I’m gradually changing my mind. I love doing competitive 5Ks because it’s great motivation.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 12:02 pm
I never thought I would be a runner, and I don’t think I am a runner yet. But I am slowly getting there. It is really hard for me to fit running into my schedule with all my other workouts. Work in progress!!!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 12:05 pm
I love that bowl, it’s cute!
I like running, but I need more patience to do longer runs.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 12:09 pm
I want to be able to love running but right now I hate it because I can’t run very far and it ends up making me miserable being out of breath. I want to be able to run for at least 3 miles without stopping but it seems like such an impossible goal when you can only run 1/4 of a mile before being out of breath!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 12:12 pm
LOVE RUNNING. AND CELEBRITY GOSSIP. ‘NUFF SAID.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 12:12 pm
I actually love running but can’t run very far! It’s frustrating because I want to run but it hurts my knees after 2 miles or so.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 12:15 pm
I really enjoy running…this coming from someone who used to hate it. About 6 years ago I tried the Couch to 5K program and fell in love. I’ve completed the program about three times and now run once or twice a week…nothing crazy but it works for me. Have a great Friday!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 12:20 pm
I love running but I now have arthritis in my knee so I can’t do it as much as I used to. It is very frustrating!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 12:34 pm
It’s strange–I’m an avid runner and have been for 8 years. I guess this would imply that I love running. I wouldn’t say that I love it all the time, though. I very much have a love/hate relationship with running. I love how it makes me feel (empowered) and I love what it does for my legs and endurance, but I hate that it occasionally injures me
I have a hamstring injury that keeps resurfacing, no matter how much PT I do. Like you, Tina, I have learned to be satisfied with running a few times a week, as opposed to several.
Hmm…I guess the other thing I sometimes ‘hate’ about running is that, when I have an off day, I tend to internalize it and believe my running ability has waned overnight. But I think this might be more of a personal problem than a problem inherent to running
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 12:36 pm
I want to run, but running does not seem to love me. I get the same stress relief/contemplation time from walking though, so I understand what you mean.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 12:40 pm
Happy Friday! I’m looking forward to it as well. I like running, but only on the treadmill. I HATE it outside. Weird huh?
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 12:49 pm
I love running, when I was in highschool I struggled running 1mile. Its been about 10 years since HS now and I absolutely love running. I wouldn’t call myself a runner but I try to run 6miles couple times a week and 3miles on other days. It helps me clear my head, think straight and I love that good feeling after a nice long run!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 1:22 pm
I love your tablemat with the bowl – they are quite a pair!
I can’t say I love running, but I do willing to do it 2-3 times a week. that’s the only way I can make myself sweaty like hell!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 1:42 pm
I hate running, but I’m trying to like it…
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 1:48 pm
I keep trying to love but I really hate….
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 1:49 pm
I have bad knees and ankles and running is torture on them and me. However, I can do Bikram Yoga with no issue at all. It is to me what running is for you. If I don’t do it something is missing from my life and day. Hope you have a great weekend. BTW, that PB and banana mash looks amazing.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 1:52 pm
I absolutely love running! I can’t get enough.
What a cool bowl!!
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 1:52 pm
Right now I like running. I think if I buckled down and did it more often I could grow to love it.
on Nov 13th, 2009 at 1:55 pm
Hey Tina,
Congrats on getting back on the running train…I am definitely on the “love” side with that one! Still, I know what you mean– I’ve been training for my firs half-marathon, which is next week, and I’ll definitely be glad to take a little break from running for a while. I think the hardest part about following a running training schedule is all of the other physical activity (strength training, other cardio, etc.) that you kind of have to give up, or at least cut way back on.
If you want to catch up on Us Weekly and the like, I have a pop culture blog: http://www.palecoin2.wordpress.com– check it out sometime!

I WISH I loved running. It is mental thing for me, I haven’t overcome it yet. I have to find other ways to exercise so I am not unhappy doing it. Just wanted to comment that your photography is excellent. It is so fun to see how far you have come with it. I am hoping the same happens for me
. Happy weekend!

I like running. I don’t think I’ll ever be one of those 40 mile a weekers, but I’m content running twice a week. If I don’t do it a little bit, I do miss it.

Oh, I love it too!!!! If I can’t run, I get into the worst of moods!

i think im somewhere in the middle. i run 3 – 4 times a week. i don’t love the process, but i love results.

i have a love/hate relationship with running. i love how strong my body feels when im running, and i usually love the results i see. however, i hate how i very, very easily consume WAY too many calories when i run on a regular basis. it makes me ravenous, even when im careful about having enough protein/carbs, etc. my eating gets out of control if i run a few days in a row. i try to keep it to about twice a week. pilates, weights, etc does not effect my appetite.
on a different note, i hope i can find the ingredients needed to make your pumpkin sauce, because woo-boy am i excited to make it! looks so, so good!!

LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!! I am actually running a half marathon tomorrow in San Antonio, Texas! YAY!

I love love love running. It’s funny because of all the things I do including career, cooking, writing, etc, I would say running is ahead of all those things. It is my thing, it is what I do. I train really hard for races, but I love every minute of it. I definitely don’t feel the same if I don’t get out for a run (or two) in a day.

I LOVE running! My body doesn’t like doing it more than 3 days a week, but I LOVE how fit and strong it makes me feel! I haven’t found any other form of exercise that makes me feel the same way.

I want to love running! I just started the Couch to 5K program!!! I hope it helps me because I’m tired of having to DRIVE to the gym 15 minutes away, work out drive home… and that monthly fee. yeah running is free and looks great when you really get into the groove of things, so that’s what I hope to do!

I LOVE it! Addicted. I’m so depressed right now not training, but the thought of a marathon alone is so daunting. I miss having running partners :/ I ran 4 today on a swollen knee so I understand the can’t live w/o it. Nothing else gives you that high.

I’m gonna have to disagree with you Miss Tina: I’ve only recently started trying to run, for like reals. (Going for 3+ miles runs every other day or so.) I really did used to hate running. I can’t say I love it yet, its hard every single day- but I like the way it makes me feel, and I like the camaraderie/high spirits/positive energy at races, and the feeling when you hit the pavement outside in the early am. But I don’t love it.
So I don’t think it’s that black/white, I think there are lots of different kinds of people out there.

Ah, I’ve come to the same conclusion as you- my body isn’t so happy with running (I get injured often) but my mind and heart LOVE it… so if I can only run once or twice a week, I’ll take it! It’s better than not being able to run at all, that is for sure!

I love running. I would rather do that than any other activity and really have to force myself to do other things to switch it up a bit!

i’m somewhere in the middle w running. when i’m not in “running shape” (which i haven’t been in years) i really hate it but i have felt really amazing after a run, even a little one before, to know not to knock it.

I love running, but I am still getting used to it and cannot run for a long period of time just yet. I did manage to do 8.1 milesin 90 minutes the other day, which is the longest I have gone. I think I ran most of that too, even if it was slow. I am slowly working on getting better because it is a great stres reliever.

I totally agree with you about the running thing. I had to skip it this morning and really felt like my day was not the same. I almost feel guilty to my body for not running. Sunday is usually my off day and I even feel a tad guilty then too!
Running/walking makes me feel better about myself. It gives me a fresh attitude and relieves so much stress. I’m training to run my first marathon and didn’t think I would end up loving it as much as I do.

Glad the pom pumpkin sauce was divine in your oats this morning………and afternoon!
I will have to try that sauce on some pasta. I know my husband would never expect that combo and it would be a fun way to surprise him then use them in oats the next morning! I love finding multiple ways to use something simple.

I loved your post, Tina! I am a new runner, and I love that I am finding a whole new identity. Running is TOUGH, and sometimes that’s why I love it, but sometimes it’s why I fear it, too. What’s the story of your running journey? You’ve talked about how you came to love health and fitness – but what about running in particular? How did that love begin?

I LOVE running. My dad was a marathon runner, so he’s passed the proverbial torch down to me (I hope to run the NYC Marathon in 2012). It saved his life from diabetes (real insulin regulator). For me, it is stress relief, time for me to think, breathe, challenge myself, surprise myself, improve myself, and most importantly…be myself. The only thing I hate about running is when I can’t (due to physical hiccups like calf strain or shin splits.)

1. Love the bowl! Where did you get it?
2. The iced coffee sounds delicious.
3. I LOVE running : )

I’m a running hater
I love biking though! While I commute via bike, I love riding the stationary bike at the gym- mostly because I can read at the same time. If I try to run and read I get motion sickness! haha

I love the sense of accomplishment that I feel afterwards, but I can honestly say I’m never just itching to go for a run. That said, I really like training for and participating in races however.
