Finn and Nella Pasta

Remember how Murphy was absolutely exhausted after his pug playdate yesterday afternoon? Well, his partner in crime, Finn, was pooped too!

His owner, Leigh, sent me this photo yesterday afternoon:

The story of Murphy, Finn, and Nella Pasta is actually sort of random.

A couple of months ago, Murphy and Finn briefly met on the streets of South Boston. But, it wasn’t until Leigh’s friend told her about Carrots ‘N’ Cake that we got in touch with one another.

In addition to loving pugs, Leigh is a huge foodie and co-owner of Nella Pasta.

Nella Pasta specializes in fresh handmade pasta using local ingredients.

Tonight, I made Nella Pasta’s Southwestern Black and Orange Ravioli.

From the Nella Pasta blog:

We stuffed our bright orange roasted red pepper pasta with a southwestern black bean filling that will appeal to all the senses: the perfect Halloween motif-ed colors that will complement any Halloween decor, the fragrant aroma of hot chillies and cilantro and the perfect subltle kick of spice for your taste buds.

I added the Southwestern Black and Orange Ravioli to a bed of fresh spinach and topped it with a sauce made from marinara, salsa, chopped green bell pepper, and ground Italian sausage. Mmm!

As dorky as it may sound, the meal was bursting with flavor! :-D

And, for the record, I snacked on a M&M cookie and a cup of coffee during the NuVal meeting this afternoon.

The cookie was amazing; the coffee was horrendous! :-?

I have Apple Crisp baking in the oven right now. I’m so excited! It’s the first of the season for me!

Almost time for bed! Sleep tight!

That cookie does look fabulous. It looks semi doughy still, which is the key to a wonderful cookie!

I haven’t had apple crisp this season yet either. Or pumpkin, which I have been REALLY craving. I hope you enjoy your crisp!

    Have a great evening!

I love how joyful and happy and more upbeat your blog has become- not saying that it was a downer before, but I can tell in the way you explain things lately how much happier you are – with your new pug and with your new career! I’m so happy you found something that makes you burst with joy :) Have a terrific night!

It’s possible that if Murphy and Fin became best friends, I would read a blog just about them! :) That cookie looks amazingly good, usually Starbucks ones seem sort of dried out but that looks nice and chewy.

I tried the following topping for Apple Crisp. It was excellent and kind of healthy.
    3/4 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup flour
    1/2 cup uncooked rolled oats
    3/4 tsp. cinnamon
    3/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/3 cup butter, softened
Mix ingredients thoroughly. Sprinkle over apples.
