Ellen & Oprah
LOOK what I finally got my hands on this afternoon!

Ellen and Oprah are on the cover of O Magazine!!!!! I know I’m a dork, but I am so excited!
I’m such an enormous fan of both of these ladies (for obvious reasons!), so I needed to buy this magazine as soon as I saw it. I can’t wait to crack it open and read it in bed tonight!
So, I’m basically obsessed with Ellen. I never miss her show, and I don’t think there is anyone funnier out there than her. Her humor always seems to brighten my day. And, of course, I’m psyched she finally made it on the cover of O!

Ok, enough of my weirdo obsession!
Lunch
I didn’t take photos of lunch today– sometimes I’m just a bad blogger.
I was in the middle of watching Slumdog Millionaire (loved it!), so I just grabbed a quick bowl of Raisin Bran with sliced banana and low-fat milk for lunch. I also munched on some cheddar cheese Combos while watching the movie. It was so much easier than pausing the movie to snap photos!
Dinner
My wonderful husband cooked dinner for us tonight while I hit the gym for about an hour. Mal made a DELICIOUS pizza with Gruyere cheese, sliced ham, and marinara sauce.

Gruyere cheese knocks my socks off! Holy yum!
I added a veggie-licious side salad to dinner.

The pizza was so amazing, I ended up eating a second piece after I snapped these photos, so I didn’t take a picture of it.
As you can see (or not see?), I was having a lazy blogger day today!

Dessert was a big chunk of Scharffen Berger bittersweet chocolate. Amazing.

The guys are already in bed, so I’m off to join them.
Good night, blog friends!

You’re so good about blogging, you deserve to take time off every once in a while. I adore Ellen AND Oprah — can’t wait to get the magazine — they were great on Oprah’s show last week.

Sometimes lazy days are totally necessary

I love Ellen. She’s funny and so just what you see is what you get. It’s refreshing. I LOVE that she made the cover because she is a positive role model.
Yummy food. What is it with pizza lately? I am missing out!

That pizza looks SO good. I don’t think I’ve ever tasted gruyere by itself, so I’m not sure if I like it a lot. But judging from my relationship with other kinds of cheese, I’m sure it tastes heavenly

I’m a big Ellen fan too! Not only do I love her as a person, but my body associates her with food–I watch her show during lunch:)
Carina the Blogarina — November 15, 2009 @ 1:57 am
I lobe both their shows! Even though Ellen can be a bit to much some times and I’m so bored with dr. oz on oprah. I wonder why they did two different covers.. probably trying to get people to by copies!
I loved slumdog millionaire to, but I don’t think I could bare to see it again. To think that this actually happens to children in India (and probably other places to) it’s just to hard to even imagine. You should read the book! It’a amazing! I read it 5 years ago, and loved kit. It has more questions, and more stories of how the main character learns things. I loved the movie, but the book was better.
Lynn (The Actors Diet) — November 15, 2009 @ 2:04 am
did you see the oprah interview with ellen? that was quite good too.

i interned at the ellen show last year and it was, hands down, the most amazing time of my life. she’s the funniest and nicest boss you could ever ask for! my mom and i bought this magazine on thursday – we’ve been counting down the days until the release! definitely make sure to read the article titled “the fat fight” – i think it’s really powerful and something a lot of bloggers would take interest in.

Tina, I’m definitely with you! I LOVE Ellen, and think she’s HILARIOUS! I have to find that magazine

Both the pizza and the salad look delicious.
I, too, have been a bad blogger. I took some pictures of my lunch and dinner today (slept through breakfast) but haven’t even taken them off the camera yet.

I love Ellen so so so so so much!! The halloween episode was THE BEST! I was laughing hysterically when she was showing the footage of her scaring everyone and then having her interns come out in those silly costumes. It’s too good.

Ooh what kind of bread to you use for that pizza – it looks so good!
Lindsay Perrone (goodiesgalore) — November 15, 2009 @ 11:27 am
So does Murphy sleep with you guys? Eleanor sleeps with us and although I love her, she is a living form of birth control. Not good for the relationship. Something’s gotta give but she’s such a snuggle muffin.
hemp jogger — November 15, 2009 @ 11:29 am

I’m absolutely loving your entertainment and food choices for the day! “Slumdog Millionaire” was SO GOOD. I saw it in the theater with a friend of mine who actually lived in India for three months and he said the depiction of life there was fully accurate.
That pizza looks divine! Your plate looks so colorful and well-rounded, too.
Tina — November 15, 2009 @ 12:02 pm
@Lindsay Perrone (goodiesgalore): No, he hangs out in bed with us, but he sleeps in his crate.
FoodFitnessFreshair — November 15, 2009 @ 12:06 pm
The cookies sound great! I curious how they would taste if the whole wheat flour were to be used. And nice chocolate choice, def. one of my favorites!
Jess (What's Normal, Anyways?) — November 15, 2009 @ 2:08 pm
Gruyere IS amazing, I agree….just put it on anything…heck just eat the durn thing!
Those cookies look yummy, thanks for sharing the recipe. I’m really excited about Oprah and Ellen on the cover too…I actually got to see part of the Oprah show when the two of them were promoting (and goofing off) about the this issue being released.
Enjoy it and your weekend!

I love, love, love Gruyere cheese. I actually just got back from a trip to Switzerland and I went to Gruyere and the cheese factory. We took a tour, saw how they made the cheese… it was awesome! And I think that it made the cheese taste even better afterwards
