Good morning, blog world!!!!!
Just a quick recap from last night…
Mal and I met our friends, Josh and Danielle, at the Beantown Pub for a cocktail before the concert.

I enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay while the 4 of us caught up. We spent about an hour chatting before heading to the Wang Center for the concert.

As expected, Ray was amazing! I enjoyed his solo acoustic performance even more than last year’s show with his band.

My favorite songs of the evening: Jolene, Shelter, and Empty. Ray played a slow version of You Are My Best Friend, which was neat to hear, but I definitely prefer the album version.

Mal and I were wired after the concert, so we didn’t get to bed until after 1:00 AM. Needless to say, I woke up exhausted and skipped my usual early-morning workout at the gym.
Maybe I can fit a workout in this evening?
Breakfast
I used the other half of baked acorn squash in my oats this morning. I love getting my veggies this way!
In the mix:
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup vanilla soy milk
- 1/2 acorn squash, mashed
- 1 tbsp ground flaxseed meal
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- Cinnamon
- Pumpkin seeds
I added 2 scoops of peanut butter to my oats today. It better hold me over until lunch!

Question of the Day
What was your first concert?
Mine was NKOTB at Foxboro Stadium in 1990. I may have worn a black hat just like Joey McIntyre! He was my favorite!
P.S. The image that I just linked to– I’m pretty sure I had that exact same poster hanging in my bedroom! Man, I was so cool!

I am a true canadian girl!
HAha! My sister and I BEGGED my mom to get us tickets to NKOTB with no luck. My sis, who now lives in Boston, sees them EVERY chance she gets and is trying to convince a friend to do the NKOTB cruise with her!
My first concert was David Bowie’s Sound & Vision tour in 1990 for my 13th birthday. I saw him at Foxborough Stadium and the Hartford Civic Center–two concerts in the same weekend thanks to very generous birthday gifts
Mine was James Taylor…still in love with him today.
My first real concert was Maroon 5 and John Mayer, and I was 5th row!
My first concert was NKOTB too! I definitely went to three of their concerts, and always secretly hoped I would be that girl they pulled up on stage and sang to. I was crushed it time I wasn’t picked.
Their Christmas album is still a staple during the holidays!
My first concert was Eric Clapton and I’ve seen him again and again over the years. He is always amazing. It doesn’t get much better than Slowhand.
I don’t remember my first concert! I’ve been to so many aahah Great.. now I’ll spend the whole afternoon trying to remember! :p
Looks like you guys have a lot of fun there!! Enjoy the days!
I love that oatmeal and the way to cook it. It’s super yellowish – just like the color of fall. Thanks for the recipe:-)
New Kid’s on the Block was my first concert at the age of 13
My first concert was the Beach Boys, I think I was 12 and it was a bday present. I went with my parents…I was SO cool.
I love Ray! You should look into Amos Lee if you haven’t heard of him.
We were totally at the same concert back in 1990. Mine as NKOTB too!! At Foxboro! I was 8
The Presidents of the United States of America! A great first concert. Who doesn’t love Particle Man?

I think my first concert was either Bonnie Raitt or Paula Abdual. LOL One timeless and the other….. a trainwreck.
I love the Beantown Pub! It was one of my go-to places for after work drinks. My first concert was the Dave Matthews Band when I was a freshman in high school. I enjoy his old-school songs much better than his new ones!
NKOTB was my first! I dragged both my parents along with me. I think I was actually at the concert where Donny fell through the stage? He was on some sort of trapeze wire thing. I don’t know where the concert was, but it was pretty funny.
My first concert was Ani DiFranco, when I was 14. I was soooo excited.
My first concert was NKOTB, also!! Probably around the same time!
Too funny, that was my first concert as well and it looks like there were other blog readers there too. I was a huge New Kids fan. I was more that ecstatic to see them in concert.
I am jealous that your first concert was NKOTB! Mine was Something Corporate in college — I didn’t even like them but my friends made me tag along.

My first concert was Carmen, a christian singer, when I was like 9 years old. It was in the Tacoma Dome and totally awesome.
Peter, Paul and Mary! I was 2 and a half and my parents were still sort of hippies at that point. After that I was hooked, I LOVE going to concerts!
That looks like a lot of fun! My first concert was Weird Al!!! Hahaha. My dad took my siblings and I wayyy long ago when I was maybe 4 or 5?? But the best concerts I’ve been to are Green Day. I’ve seen them three times (twice just this summer) and they’re incredible! Sooo much energy, and they really involve the audience in a way I’ve never seen before. So great!
p.s. Love the oats!!
I was there last night! It was a great show, he’s a fantastic musician and I thought a very compelling story teller.
