Good morning, blog world!!!!!
Just a quick recap from last night…
Mal and I met our friends, Josh and Danielle, at the Beantown Pub for a cocktail before the concert.

I enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay while the 4 of us caught up. We spent about an hour chatting before heading to the Wang Center for the concert.

As expected, Ray was amazing! I enjoyed his solo acoustic performance even more than last year’s show with his band.

My favorite songs of the evening: Jolene, Shelter, and Empty. Ray played a slow version of You Are My Best Friend, which was neat to hear, but I definitely prefer the album version.

Mal and I were wired after the concert, so we didn’t get to bed until after 1:00 AM. Needless to say, I woke up exhausted and skipped my usual early-morning workout at the gym.
Maybe I can fit a workout in this evening?
Breakfast
I used the other half of baked acorn squash in my oats this morning. I love getting my veggies this way!
In the mix:
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup vanilla soy milk
- 1/2 acorn squash, mashed
- 1 tbsp ground flaxseed meal
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- Cinnamon
- Pumpkin seeds
I added 2 scoops of peanut butter to my oats today. It better hold me over until lunch!

Question of the Day
What was your first concert?
Mine was NKOTB at Foxboro Stadium in 1990. I may have worn a black hat just like Joey McIntyre! He was my favorite!
P.S. The image that I just linked to– I’m pretty sure I had that exact same poster hanging in my bedroom! Man, I was so cool!

First concert was 1989 Nashville,TN NKTOB and Tiffany! Wow we are too cool!
Tina, I’m so excited to see you tomorrow in San Fran at the Foodbuzz Festival…Safe Travels and have a great day. See you soon on the West Coast!
My first concert was Hanson. LOL! so embarassing.
See you in San Fran!
Tina, I definitely had that poster in my room! My first concert was Huey Lewis and The News at Concerts on the Common. Remember that? They don’t call it that anymore on the Boston Common. Ah, memories…
Hahahaha…Mine was also NKOTB believe it or not. I saw them at the Worcester Centrum (it’s now called the DCU Center) and loved the show. I was so excited to be able to go to a concert that I didn’t care who it was, but truth be told I was a New Kids fan!! Still am really. Gotta love the Beantown Boys!!
Glad you had a good time at the show last night!!

My first concert was NKOTB too!! Tiffany opened for them.
My first concert was also NKOTB!! I had a thing for Jordan. haha.
my first concert was “teenage fan club” – i went into NYC on a school night, wound up kicked in the face in my first mosh pit. my mom let me have the next day off, but she took me to take my passport pic. it was awful – a big fat lip, wearing a teenage fanclub shirt.
I had that poster too, and I think it was the image on my knotb pillow case!!
My first concert was Hanson! MMMBop
i also wore a hat to my first concert, which was NKOTB! though, mine was a bit more “blossom-ish”.
Seeing ray at the beacon theater in ny next week. psyched.
Wow, there are a lot of NKOTB fans here. I feel REALLY old. My first concert was Brian Adams, Providence Civic Center, 1985. Soon to be followed by Journey.
i agree that adding the pb to the breaky fills me up till lunch!

My first concert was also NKOTB-I loved them way back when!
NKOTB was my first concert too! How awesome though that you live in their hometown, ha ha. I’m going to have to try acorn squash in my oats now, that just sounds so good!
Actually have only been to a couple of concerts over the years: Van Halen (saw them in CA) and Sting back in the day at the Boston Garden. Still remember it, great show!
Ah, New Kids. Also my first concert! We had my dad’s work’s “box seats” — thought we were SO cool!
Except that my parents were with us, and probably pretty bored!
My dad took me to a rolling stones concert in third grade. I was just so overwhelmed; I had never seen adults getting so wild and crazy before! And my brother was sound asleep on the bleachers…. and the tongue kissing…. yah it was a bit much for us little younguns! haha
My sister and I went to Dixie Chicks when I was in 9th grade and she was in 7th. We’d just moved to NY and thoguht it was SO cool to be seeing a concert in Radio City Music hall.
And the chicks were great, obv.
I am sooooooo jealous.. Ray Lamontage (or however you spell it) is AMAZING!!!!!!! One of my favorite voices around!!
Love your updates and glad to see you eat chocolate too!! hehe
Mine was NKOTB too … probably same year! I was in love with Donny. Took me a while to shake the ‘bad boy’ attraction!! LOL
My first concert was Boys to Men when I was 12. We were in the next to last row and they looked like tiny little ants but it was awesome.
My first concert was NSYNC when I was 12. I waited for hours in the cold for those tickets!
My first concert was NKOTB too! In Vancouver BC. Can’t remember what year though, but I was pretty young! My friends and I just saw them again last December =)
NKOTB!! last november I had a Oprah full circle moment and saw then on their reunion tour! Same friend with me and same location-it was kinda crazy! We dressed up all 80′s and old NKOTB tshirts that our moms still had-it was so fun!!
My first real concert was NKOTB too. I might have had a Joey haircut if you can beleive it. Not good. LOL. Jordan was my favorite though.
In 5th grade my Mom took me to see Janet Jackson in concert for her ‘Janet’ Tour. The best Christmas present I had ever received! Totally made up for the fact that she hid the tickets inside another present, my first training bra.
My first concert was in 1984 (I was 5), and it was Michael Jackson. I was the coolest kid in kindergarten when I got to bring my program from the show in for show and tell the next day
