Concert Memories

Good morning, blog world!!!!!

Just a quick recap from last night…

Mal and I met our friends, Josh and Danielle, at the Beantown Pub for a cocktail before the concert.

IMG_0199.JPG

I enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay while the 4 of us caught up. We spent about an hour chatting before heading to the Wang Center for the concert.

IMG_0201.JPG

As expected, Ray was amazing! I enjoyed his solo acoustic performance even more than last year’s show with his band.

IMG_0204.JPG

My favorite songs of the evening: Jolene, Shelter, and Empty. Ray played a slow version of You Are My Best Friend, which was neat to hear, but I definitely prefer the album version.

Mal and I were wired after the concert, so we didn’t get to bed until after 1:00 AM. Needless to say, I woke up exhausted and skipped my usual early-morning workout at the gym. :-? Maybe I can fit a workout in this evening?

Breakfast

I used the other half of baked acorn squash in my oats this morning. I love getting my veggies this way! :-D

In the mix:

  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vanilla soy milk
  • 1/2 acorn squash, mashed
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed meal
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon
  • Pumpkin seeds

I added 2 scoops of peanut butter to my oats today. It better hold me over until lunch!

Question of the Day

What was your first concert?

Mine was NKOTB at Foxboro Stadium in 1990. I may have worn a black hat just like Joey McIntyre! He was my favorite!

P.S. The image that I just linked to– I’m pretty sure I had that exact same poster hanging in my bedroom! Man, I was so cool!

HAha! My sister and I BEGGED my mom to get us tickets to NKOTB with no luck. My sis, who now lives in Boston, sees them EVERY chance she gets and is trying to convince a friend to do the NKOTB cruise with her!

My first concert was David Bowie’s Sound & Vision tour in 1990 for my 13th birthday. I saw him at Foxborough Stadium and the Hartford Civic Center–two concerts in the same weekend thanks to very generous birthday gifts :)

My first concert was NKOTB too! I definitely went to three of their concerts, and always secretly hoped I would be that girl they pulled up on stage and sang to. I was crushed it time I wasn’t picked.

Their Christmas album is still a staple during the holidays!
