Coffee, Chocolate, and a Holiday Recipe Contest

There’s all sorts of stuff happening in Carrots ‘N’ Cake land!

But, first, let’s start with this afternoon’s eats!

This morning, when I was walking Murphy, I found a coupon for a FREE medium hot coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts. Sweet! How often does that happen, right? It must have been a sign that I should stop for coffee this morning!

My morning was busy at NuVal, so it took me awhile to drink my medium D&D coffee. I ended up pouring it into a mug to reheat it in the microwave a bunch of times.

A Kit Kat seemed like the perfect treat to go along with my reheated coffee. ;-)

For lunch, I had plain Chobani with trail mix and Uncle Sam cereal mixed in.

IMG_0215.JPG

I also munched on an apple.

IMG_0216.JPG

And then I ate a million pieces of leftover Halloween candy.

I have zero willpower when it comes to these babies! I’m pretty sure a Milky Way went unaccounted for! :-?

Halloween candy is so hard to resist- especially in the cute kiddie size packages! I can totally relate. And everyone brings theirs into work to get rid of it- disasterous!

Oh my gosh, I totally know what you mean about that Halloween candy.. Once I start munching on candy, it’s terribly difficult to stop! It does seem like a KitKat would go great with coffee, though!

We bought candy I don’t like so I wouldn’t be tempted and we gave most of it away anyways:) Glad things are going well for you and your new jobs!

free coffee is always good :) and those little kit kats ARE addicting! I have the same problem. Luckily (for me), my husband polished off the little candy we had left ON halloween night. No leftovers for me.

What a fun contest! I’ll get my brain going for egg recipes. I love, love, love eggs.

Oh what a cool contest! I might have to enter as I have recently discovered that I am a BIG egg fan…although I’m not the most creative recipe developer, so I’ll really have to think on this one :-)

I’m a little disappointed that you’re partnering with a company that (at least until recently) sourced their eggs from a factory farm connected to serious animal cruelty. You should do a little research – these are not eggs anyone should want a year’s supply of.

Free coffee is the best promotion any company can get to get me through their doors. I adore coffee.

Good luck to all who are entering the Eggland’s recipe contest.

Finding stuff like that Dunkin’ Donuts coupon is always amazing! My personal favorite is finding money in a jacket or purse that I haven’t used in awhile. Truly makes my day. :)

Free coffee is awesome. And I have had to reheat coffee and tea before because of being busy. Kind of good and bad in the same way.

Free stuff rocks!!!! When I used to work at a desk, I’d have to reheat my coffee all the time because I would get too busy. A Venti size would last me FOREVER!

Hi…this comment has nothing to do with this post specifically but I wanted to tell you I made a recipe inspired by one of your dinners last night and it was THE BEST!!! I try to make healthy substitutes in my meals so when I saw your idea to make a creamy alredo sauce with Laughing Cow cheese instead of heavy high fat cheeses I thought – brillant. I tried it and used 2% milk instead of heavy cream and a little REAL parm cheese and fresh garlic and it tasted like the real thing! I added broccoli and shrimp to bulk it up. Thanks. It will be a favorite in my family. My husband had 3 helpings and couldn’t believe it was low fat.
PS> I think your blog is great!!! I read it while I drink my coffee every morning.

When you say “a million” pieces of Halloween candy, do you mean like 2 or maybe even THREE? When I eat a million, I eat a million!!!
