There’s all sorts of stuff happening in Carrots ‘N’ Cake land!
But, first, let’s start with this afternoon’s eats!
This morning, when I was walking Murphy, I found a coupon for a FREE medium hot coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts. Sweet!
How often does that happen, right? It must have been a sign that I should stop for coffee this morning!

My morning was busy at NuVal, so it took me awhile to drink my medium D&D coffee. I ended up pouring it into a mug to reheat it in the microwave a bunch of times.
A Kit Kat seemed like the perfect treat to go along with my reheated coffee.

For lunch, I had plain Chobani with trail mix and Uncle Sam cereal mixed in.

I also munched on an apple.

And then I ate a million pieces of leftover Halloween candy.

I have zero willpower when it comes to these babies! I’m pretty sure a Milky Way went unaccounted for!

I’l definitely think of something for that contest!
Wow! You’re definitely keeping busy.
Woooaahhh – exciting stuff for you!! I’m excited to get my egg-thinking cap on!
Awesome idea! I love recipe contests!
That sounds like a great contest! Can’t wait to see what others come up with (I don’t eat eggs).
Congrats on the partnership! Recipe contests are fun!
Halloween candy is so hard to resist- especially in the cute kiddie size packages! I can totally relate. And everyone brings theirs into work to get rid of it- disasterous!
question, tina! are the winning eggs Eggland’s Best Organic Free Roam? If so, I would LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE to enter the contest.
@caitlin: Cage-free and organic! http://www.egglandsbest.com/egglands-eggs/farm-fresh-eggs/cage-free-and-organic.aspx
Oh my gosh, I totally know what you mean about that Halloween candy.. Once I start munching on candy, it’s terribly difficult to stop! It does seem like a KitKat would go great with coffee, though!
We bought candy I don’t like so I wouldn’t be tempted and we gave most of it away anyways:) Glad things are going well for you and your new jobs!
free coffee is always good
and those little kit kats ARE addicting! I have the same problem. Luckily (for me), my husband polished off the little candy we had left ON halloween night. No leftovers for me.
What a fun contest! I’ll get my brain going for egg recipes. I love, love, love eggs.
Oh what a cool contest! I might have to enter as I have recently discovered that I am a BIG egg fan…although I’m not the most creative recipe developer, so I’ll really have to think on this one
I haven’t eaten one of those chocolates in years! But we don’t celebrate Halloween here so they’re not in my face all the time
Love the contest! Eggs are a great protein source for someone like me, who doesn’t eat meat!
I’m a little disappointed that you’re partnering with a company that (at least until recently) sourced their eggs from a factory farm connected to serious animal cruelty. You should do a little research – these are not eggs anyone should want a year’s supply of.

@Ari: Maybe they didn’t know? I just emailed the company to see what’s up.
Oooh, free coffee is the best coffee! And yes, Halloween candy is muy muy tempting. I’m trying to stay away for today but might have to get a little bit to last me until the end of the day!
Free coffee is the best promotion any company can get to get me through their doors. I adore coffee.
Good luck to all who are entering the Eggland’s recipe contest.
Yeah for a new partnership! I must get baking
Tina, I’d like to list this contest at ContestCook.com and just wondered if you could give me a few more details, such as who may enter and how many eggs is 1 year’s worth, etc.? Could you contact me please?
Finding stuff like that Dunkin’ Donuts coupon is always amazing! My personal favorite is finding money in a jacket or purse that I haven’t used in awhile. Truly makes my day.
cool contest!!! i’ve been looking for eggland’s best near me but they’re not sold at my local grocery store…
Free coffee is awesome. And I have had to reheat coffee and tea before because of being busy. Kind of good and bad in the same way.
We have identical Halloween candy stashes! I want mine to be done already; but the only way that;’s gonna happen is if I keep working on it… Rough life haha
Free stuff rocks!!!! When I used to work at a desk, I’d have to reheat my coffee all the time because I would get too busy. A Venti size would last me FOREVER!
WOW you have had some great opportunities through the blog! I’m so happy for you!, Enjoy San Fran!
Haha – that’s exactly the way I am with Halloween candy so don’t worry, you’re not alone
Have fun at foodbuzz! And yay for free coffee! It totally makes me day
Free Dunk?! BEST DAY EVER!
I love dunkin donuts coffee! I get it at Target all the time! It’s my secret! Also I can NOT halloween candy around me….worse is christmas candy!
that Chobani is so small when paired with that apple! is the apple enormously big or is chobani comes in that small size?
)))
Congrats on the Eggland gig! Also, I completely empathize regarding lacking willpower when it comes to bite sized candies. Twix are irresistible.
Ahhh I haven’t had Greek yogurt in a couple weeks! It’s killing me. Yogurt and cereal/granola is just a match made in heaven.
Hi…this comment has nothing to do with this post specifically but I wanted to tell you I made a recipe inspired by one of your dinners last night and it was THE BEST!!! I try to make healthy substitutes in my meals so when I saw your idea to make a creamy alredo sauce with Laughing Cow cheese instead of heavy high fat cheeses I thought – brillant. I tried it and used 2% milk instead of heavy cream and a little REAL parm cheese and fresh garlic and it tasted like the real thing! I added broccoli and shrimp to bulk it up. Thanks. It will be a favorite in my family. My husband had 3 helpings and couldn’t believe it was low fat.
PS> I think your blog is great!!! I read it while I drink my coffee every morning.
thanks for being so relatable!!!! I had a zillion pieces of leftover Halloween candy too!
When you say “a million” pieces of Halloween candy, do you mean like 2 or maybe even THREE? When I eat a million, I eat a million!!!
