Sort of Obsessed

October 27, 2009

I’m sort of obsessed with the lunch I ate today.

Yesterday, I bought a small spaghetti squash at the farmers’ market, so I cooked-it-up for lunch today. (Check out my post about how to cook spaghetti squash.)

After baking the squash and pulling out the strands with a fork, I added marinated artichokes and store-bought pesto sauce. The flavors and oils from the artichokes and pesto were just the right amount to meld everything together into a yummy dish. I’m so happy that I have leftovers for tonight! :-D

Lunch also included a High Protein Post-Workout Bar from Angela’s Glo Bakery. My lunch needed some protein in it! The bar had 11 grams of protein and tasted delicious! That girl can bake! :-D

The High Protein Post-Workout Bar is made with hemp and chia seeds, which are packed with protein, essential fatty acids, and tons of antioxidants– awesome combination of ingredients!

I rounded out lunch with an apple and some H20.

A little while later, a plate of tempting Cocoa Krispie Treats appeared behind my desk. I considered resisting the splurge, but then I realized I had no chance.

It was totally worth the splurge! The treats were wonderfully gooey, chocolaty, and marshmallow-y!

I chop vegetables! I love unwinding at the end of the day by making a fresh salad or stir fry. I know it sounds strange, but the more I chop, the more relaxed I feel.

For me, hitting the gym & running in the pool helps de-stress me! When I’m really going nuts with craziness around me I put on the boxing gloves & beat the “big bag” in the gym. As little as 15 minutes can work up a sweat, burn some calories & definitely get rid of any frustrations!

Love Oilos. Destressing for me is Yoga. My instructur makes us chant “let go” as we breathe out in our minds and that helps me.
