POM Harvest Tour: On The Road

Bright and early this morning, I met the POM bloggers for a continental breakfast in the hotel lobby. I never know what to expect with continental breakfasts, so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw a huge spread of healthy options!

I was especially psyched to see a mini oatmeal bar! :-D

I swear, oatmeal is the only meal that holds me over for hours.

I also helped myself to some fresh fruit: cantaloup, watermelon, and orange slices.

The oatmeal was delicious– hearty, warm, and creamy. I added chopped walnuts, raisins, dried cranberries, and brown sugar to my bowl.

I also added a couple scoops of peanut butter for some serious staying power.

After breakfast, the group split-up into two vans to make the 2-hour long drive to the POM orchards.

There wasn’t anything for miles and miles, except gorgeous scenery.

On the drive, Caitlin and I sampled a peanut butter flavored POM BAR X.

POM has a bar out? Did not know that. Is there pom in it? The label says peanut butter and chocolate but that would taste even better with the tart pomegranate.

I love when the continental breakfast is good. I always pack an alternative breakfast just in case but having a great breakfast bar is awesome.

Hey Tina, I’m a regular reader/commenter and I enjoyed the review, but I have to warn that everyone sharing the same bar is absolutely gross! Sure is a good way to get colds, mono, cold sores, and other nasties. Sorry to be harsh, but, as a health student (reading a health lifestyle blog), it’s my duty to urge: Just don’t do it!

Oatmeal with a little peanut butter keeps my hunger at bay longer than almost any breakfast. It’s insane. And believe me that it doesn’t take much peanut butter.
