POM Harvest Tour: Day 2 Agenda

October 20, 2009

Good morning, bloggies! 8-)

I woke up almost 45 minutes before my alarm was scheduled to go off. Darn East coast time! Being up so early, I figured that I might as well seize the day with a blog post.

So, we’ve got a busy (and exciting) day ahead of us!

After breakfast at the hotel, we’re headed to the airport for the POM Orchard Fly Overs. Eek! 8-O I already have butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it! But, I know it’s going to be awesome!

After the Orchard Fly Overs, we begin the POM Orchard Tour, which includes a drive to Visalia, California. There, we’ll learn about POM, tour the facilities, talk about pomegranates, and have our questions answered. And, my favorite RD, Janel Orvut, is giving a presentation about the nutritional benefits of pomegranate juice. I can’t wait to hear what she has to say. Remember her from the Healthy Living Summit? She’s great! :-D

The final activity of the day is a group dinner at a nice restaurant in Visalia. I even brought a dress to wear! ;-)

As I mentioned in my post last night, there are so many wonderful bloggers on this trip. Here are links to their blogs:

I’m loving reading about your POM harvest tour b/c it makes me think of my mom growing up in Santa Barbara. They had a pomegranate tree that they would eat from every year, which I would absolutely love. Aren’t they are wonderful fruit?

What else is a blogger to do when they wake up early… I do this all the time. :-)

Hope the flight wasn’t too nerve wracking.

Hi Tina — I live in Fresno currently. Not my favorite place to live for MANY reasons but if you have time here are some of my favorite places to eat at: Mediterranean Grill (downtown, hole in the wall place), Limon (Peruvian), Max’s Bistro (best sweet potato fries), Chef’s Table and Campagnia. If you end up at Tommy’s in Visalia (it may be closed), be sure to try the Kobe beef burger if you are in a burger mood! Have fun — would love to hear another outsider’s opinion about FAT (the airport code, very fitting for this area)!
