Pinch Me

I can’t believe this is my life!!! Pinch me, please!

I started my day with an EASY commute to work via automobile. No more stupid MBTA for me! I definitely won’t miss the bus!

IMG_9775.JPG

My speedy commute left me with a good 25 minutes to kill before work, so I popped into Dunkin’ Donuts for a little treat: regular coffee with milk and sugar. My fav! :-D

IMG_9779.JPG

After a quick drive down the road, it was time to start my new job!!!

IMG_9781.JPG

My first day at NuVal was GREAT! I spent the morning getting myself set up and organized (desk, email, etc.), meeting my fellow colleagues, and learning about my responsibilities and role at the company.

I really love that social media is my JOB! Get this, my first task at NuVal: taking over their Facebook and Twitter accounts!!! So cool! Feel free to follow me there, too! You’ll get the latest updates about NuVal and hear about what I am doing in the office! ;-)

For lunch, I ate at my desk. I had a pineapple Chobani with Kashi Go Lean Crunch and an apple.

IMG_9787.JPG

A simple, yet delicious and satisfying lunch!

IMG_9786.JPG

I drank lots of water this afternoon too. I’ve let my water consumption go by the wayside lately, so I’m trying to drink more of it now-a-days. Just a little reminder! ;-)

IMG_9791.JPG

I left NuVal around 2:00 PM, so I had the rest of the afternoon to myself! IT WAS AWESOME!

Once I got home, I finished my Health post and then took Murphy for a 45 minute walk around the neighborhood– the weather in Boston was gorgeous today! And, then I ran a whole slew of errands– well, actually, I walked them! I love living in Southie! :-D

On my walk, I visited the bank, post office (yay, GloBars!), dry cleaners, grocery store, dollar store, and stopped by the farmer’s market. I was a very busy lady this afternoon, but it felt GREAT to cross so many tasks off my list.

IMG_9793.JPG

IMG_9794.JPG

Strolling around the farmer’s market was absolutely amazing. I didn’t feel rushed and took my time perusing the selection of wonderful produce instead of just grabbing what I needed and leaving. I even chatted with one of the vendors for about 10 minutes– it turned out that she was from the same hometown as Mal and me! I would have never taken the time to chat like that during the work week. Oh, how things have changed! :-D

IMG_9795.JPG

IMG_9797.JPG IMG_9798.JPG

After my errands, I made myself an afternoon snack: Uncle Sam’s cereal + MixMyGranola Trail Mix + pomegranates arils + soy milk. FANTASTIC snack!

IMG_9806.JPG

I’m already hungry for dinner. Off to make something! I might even have time to do some baking tonight! Yay!

Someone pinch me!!!

Woo-hoo for the new job! Sounds like you’re getting nice & settled in, plus it’s great that you got off at 2 and could get some errands done. I forget – are you working full time there?

What a great first day! I’ll definitely follow NuVal on fb. I wanted to get to the farmers market today for squash but it’s a mile walk and then back and I didn’t have the time :-(

    So jealous of your day!

I think NuVal is a really interesting system and I am curious to see how this goes for you. Would you mind maybe one day listing the values of the foods that you are eating? I think it would be interesting to see.

Sounds like a marvelous day!! I’m so happy for you! I totally know what you mean, btw, about not being able to take a few minutes to stop and take a breath before today.. it’s suddenly hit me how nonstop i was moving all the time before my recent car accident. Only now that I’m stuck not moving at all do I really how caught up I was, unable to enjoy the simple things!

Sounds amazing. I’m glad you love your job! I’m hoping to eventually find that same happiness. I went to San Fran last weekend and I LOOVED that you could walk everywhere. It is so good for the environment (and the ole waistline!). It is a luxury I wish I had at home.

Sounds like a great schedule! The MBTA buses are not the best. The T is great, but only if you live on the right lines. The farmer’s market looks like fun. Can’t wait to see what you make with your finds.
